Wow, this is a surprise, I didn't think what I could really write anything that indepth with only 200 words; I could've written like 5 paragraphs on the song if given the space, haha.
But this is really cool, thanks alot to the judges and everyone else's comments, I didn't expect to win. I do have the "real" Penalty Life, it was the first Pillows cd I bought, but I was going to order the domestic one pretty soon anyway because I really want to read the translated lyrics and all that junk.
Thanks again!

Congrats xtsquintx.
For the record, CB and I had no idea who wrote what, Terra sent us completely annonymous entires so no bias was taken. Not that we would have been bias anyway. It was difficult to choose, there were some other good ones as well but I think we picked a good one.

I did it for the cd and to see if I have any writting talent I guess I have none oh well . I found the Cd at my local Sam Goody store for like 14 bucks. Not bad. Now get my mom to understand that I really want an original cd even though I have it burnt.

Does anyone still have their entry? I would like to see others, mainly because I really dont want to fail English next year, when the standards for my parents go 300x harder. Here is mine if anyone wants to see it and absorb some other types of writing like me:
kanojo wa kyou
From the title, you can tell that my favorite song by the pillows is kanojo wa kyou. I find the song so beautiful in so many different ways: the lightness of the notes, yet still retaining the “rock-like” sound, a part in the guitar solo that reminds me of the fluttering wings of a butterfly, and the ending which just leaves you wanting more.
This was a hard choice for me. Though having a small collection of songs to choose from, logically, I shouldn’t have a big problem. When I finished everything, kanojo wa kyou won for the points mentioned above which just forms into a big reason. The song’s sheer simplicity is unnoticed by the trance given off by the loveliness.
The more important reason why I just simply love this song is the lyrics. Though I don’t know almost any Japanese at all, the translation of the song is what I refer to. The lyrics to me read out the story of love. At the same time, I vision a second story, from the music that enhances the lyric’s effect. The second story is my own story, from which comes my attachment to this song-No, this masterpiece.

hahahaha i put that in mine, but for swanky street. it was really hard to choose between swanky street, hybrid rainbow, fool on the planet, kizuato no sasayaki, koi no SPY, ...etc.
here's mine:
Of all the songs written by the pillows, there is one song that stands
out to me. That song is Swanky Street.
Swanky Street has that same, heavy and serious feeling that a lot of
their best works have. Like their other best songs, it has a serious
message. It has meaning. Swanky Street is about continuing on, going
at full speed down that one path that is RIGHT for us, despite the
mistakes we have made and the pain we have felt as a result.
And the song isn't just great because of the words. The music, too,
adds to its greatness. It starts off at a medium level - slow, almost
gentle. It builds. "The true enemy is hiding within us, continuing
to grow," and then it BURSTS. Yamanaka sings the chorus, and you can
feel him pouring his soul into the words, feel the emotion in Manabe's
guitar and in Sato's drumming. The last chorus swells, reaches a
peak, and drops at the last sentence, but the music continues to flow
strong. At last, they slow down, fade out, and the feeling ends,
leaving me feeling oddly unfulfilled yet pleased, leaving me wanting
that feeling again.
