Post Hip! The Chips
I got one of the Potato Chips Cd's you guys were talking about in another thread. It doesn't seem to have Sawoa in the band like what was being said, but I think it's because this CD was made in the 90's and Sawoa was in the Pillows. Here's some scans and IM me at Pezking6983 on AIM if you want the songs ripped.

Actually, Sawao never had anything to do with this band. The Yahoo auction mentioned in the other thread probably just gave "the pillows" and "Sawao Yamanaka" as an example of what the CD sounds like.

Me. :wink:
First off, the guy on the cover of the mentioned CD in the "For those who don't know" thread doesn't look anything like Sawao.

Plus look at the name; "Morikun".

Secondly, if you examen the CD case a little bit you will find the release date;

As you can see, this CD was released April 1st of 1990.
This is just weeks before the release of PANTOMIME. Sawao's high-school band? He was 22 years of age at the time. :P

Lastly, try searching google to find any evidence that Sawao ever had anything to do with this band. the pillows are a popular enough band that if it were true that he was a member of "The Potato Chips" you would be able to find something. Nothing I have found indicates that Sawao (or any other member of the pillows) has ever had anything to do with these guys.

I looked up this Morikun fellow just to rule out the possibility that perhaps Sawao had been in some kind of extreme facial altering freak accident and I discovered that this guy has worked on several projects since he was in The Potato Chips. I'm not sure if Morikun is still making music these days, but here is a picture of him from his personal diary;

I agree. When I got the CD I decided right away that Sawoa couldn't have been in the band. 2nd I also agree that the guy on that other cover in the thread was not Sawoa at all because he looks like the guy on the cover of the CD I have, but older. Plus I just checked the insert and the Morikun guy is still in the band when the CD I own came out.
