i beg to differ:

looks to be the beautiful, well-endowed lovechild of a gretsch white falcon and a '72 thinline tele... very want, but i have two teles already and have trouble justifying such a purchase :(

Well, shit. Now I know specifically what Telecaster to purchase next. I was leaning towards a standard thinline reissue with the natural wood color, but now I have a boner for that gold-on-white.

White and gold looks cool, but seems so unbecoming of a Telecaster, as opposed to a White Falcon or a Les Paul.

Gold looks tacky.

You talkin trash bout my paintin skills!?
I think flametop is generally pretty uggo (basically anything that isn't gold flametop on a Les Paul) BUT...I have mad respect for you 1) Doing that paint job yourself 2) basically assembling all that shit. Did you do the entire neck/fretboard by hand too, or did you get it premade?

It is actually quilt maple top, mahogany body, flamed maple neck, and Indian rosewood fingerboard. The whole guitar is made completely by hand, by myself, except for the obvious tools required for the job and parts. It was my first build, I went to a luthier school.

Well there's that. I would have been incredibly jealous-pissed if you'd said "Yeah I just figured it all out in my spare time."

You should record some of your music that has a distinct "Japanese flavor" to it and upload for us! [2009 TRASH-TALK THROW BACK]. Yeah I remember you.
And I'm not dissing on your paint skills at all, I just really hate that kind of finish in general. I'm all about natural wood grains, solid colors, and 3TS (in which you can see the natural wood grain  ).
You are the first person to ever tell me they did not like the finish. :eh: I can't stand simple solid color instruments anymore. Maybe just a vintage white mustang.

Well I wanted professional training since I choose being a luthier as my career.
I don't have any distinct "Japanese flavor" music. Did that comment really piss you off? I say it was fun trolling you. Did you not realize, that for the most part I was just screwing with you about that. Yeah I remember you also.

Lol, if by some chance they were to strike up an intense international friendship, be sure to ask Keith to ask Manabe to have the pillows play some stuff off of Living Field during the next tour 8)
I just really fucking hate that sort of finish in general, I hardly even find it okay on guitars that frequently come with it. On a tele, though? Can't stand it at all. It's my favorite guitar, so seeing my least favorite finish on it just destroys their simplistic beauty for me.

Headstock: does not work for a tele
Pickguard: does not work for a tele
Finish: does not work for a tele

You put that shit on a more metal-looking guitar, it'd be cool. As it is, I wouldn't let that guitar near my MIJ '62 reissue 3TS Tele for fear that the ugly is catching. I'm sorry, it's the truth.

I don't like flame tops or quilt tops. 3TS, two-tone bursts, opaque colors, transparent finishes
