This is a copy of my post on the previous site. I suggest we take the posts that we made the last day of the old site & just do the ole cut & paste. Anyways, for anyone who's never heard of Queens of the Stone Age, I pity you . ![]() ![]() But if you want a cool intro song, go with "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" from their "R" album. It's like a stoner's anthem. Just look at the lyrics: Nicotine valium vicodin marijuana ecstacy and alcohol Co-co-co-co-co-co-cocaine! That's it! It may not be DARE-friendly, but it sounds so rad! (Dude, did I just say "rad"? That is so 1991!) Their new album "Lullabies to Paralyze" hit stores in March; and I for one cannot wait to hear it. One of the songs is in Need for Speed Underground 2; and it's awesome! I hope to see them on tour this year. |

I don't like them, I don't know what it is, but something really rubs me the wrong way. |

Their new album "Lullabies to Paralyze" (GOD I LOVE THAT TITLE!) will be released in two versions: regular & deluxe. The deluxe version will feature a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage, studio footage, and probably some concert footage as well. I sooooo can't wait for it to drop. "Little Sister" is so damn FLCL, man! |
"Little Sister" is so damn FLCL, man!
What? Anyway, the new album is pretty good. I still miss Nick a bit on bass though. If you ever get a chance to see QOTSA live, do it. Amazing stage show. |

"Little Sister" is so damn FLCL, man!
What?.
I'll explain. 1. It sounds like a song that would play while Haruko was battling the giant robots. 2. I use the term "fooly cooly" to mean "something so, well, cool that only a fool would ever attempt to imitate it." Also, tickets are sold out at the Boaton show; so I hope that they come back in the summer. |

Just a little bit of trivia. Joey Castillo used to play in hide's American band ZILCH. QOTSA are going to be in Minneapolis in April, I'm thinking about going to see them. If I do I'll let you guys know how it was. |

The show here in SF sold out a few minutes after they went on sale, so it looks like I won't be seeing them this time around. They were when I saw them on the SFTD tour though. Glad I got to see them with Nick still in the band. Millionaire, the opening band, were really great also. |

Sorry to revive a really, really old post; but their new album "Era Vulgaris" just came out. I creamed when I first heard it. I have some of the bonus tracks if anyone is looking for them (Best Buy always fucks up when they do their "Bonus Track Downloads"). |

You said something about an episode of Viva la Bam... I used to watch that show, but then I realized how horribly fake a lot of the stuff they do is. Not the actual smashing shit, but the "scripted" stuff when they talk about what they're going to do and how rad/awesome it's going to be. You can tell when they're acting because they're really bad at it, however they divert your attention with a lot of subtext and images and stuff. Tricky, those editors are. Anyway, I saw that episode you were talking about; however, I don't remember what the music they played when Knoxville sawed Bam's hummer. |
