My favorite is Impossible Germany by Wilco, preferably from their live performance on Austin City Limits last year. Ice has some of my favorite guitar playing ever, though ![]() |

I don't know what the best solo ever is but I always feel pumped when I hear Advice instrumental, if that counts. |
Ice has some of my favorite guitar playing ever, though ![]() The entire damn song is one big solo. The best part of it is when the guitar syncs up with the drums near the end of the song, like BAH-BAH-BAH-BAH-BAH-BAH!! = BEND-BEND-BEND-BEND-BEND-BEND!! Oh gosh. How I wish that band were still alive. |

"Save Me" by Queen; Words and music by Brian May; Solo performed by Brian May. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8cYDnthloI Solo at 3:00, although it's important to understand its context. It's not complex, structurally or technically. The performance is equally as important as the notes and structure, not to mention the tone. I believe the performance is nigh impossible to recreate, and the solo says exactly what the lyrics do. |

"heart of a lion" - racer x. really a strange solo, strange bends and rhythms, strange tapping.. and of course, harmonized guitar solos ftw. <3 gilbert + bouillet |
