Howdy guys, I normally don't start threads but in this case, I wanted to encourage you all to check out what Metallica has done with their newest release, Death Magnetic:

Now you might not be metal fans if you listen to The Pillows, but hopefully you can appreciate this release as a "return to the roots" project that brings back the QUALITY and CRAFTSMANSHIP to their work that was somewhat lacking over years of experimentation with commercial songwriting. Now the story of Metallica is not unlike many other bands that enter the scene with an air of freshness and gleam, only to be criticized years later for their lackluster followup projects. I for one love all generations of Metallica, but what can be seen (and heard
)with this newest release is a true sense of care, of focus and determination, an honest attempt to re-achieve what made Metallica a key contributor to the infinite world of music; balls-to-the-wall epic heavy metal. Not that I didn't like the newer albums, but anything less than this Death Magnetic from here on out is a waste of material....if you have the talent, why not use it to create a project as vast as this one?? Evaluating whether or not you like a song on this new record or that old record is arbitrary compared to evaluating the QUALITY of projects, and surely I hope you can all appreciate a band that has gone back to taking the time to FORCE quality back in their work. I also hope that other bands follow suit in the coming ages to reach back and strive to produce the best projects they possibly can. My hat goes off to these performers, for they are the true artists who use blood, sweat, and tears to form music we cherish as ART. Music is and always will be timeless, so why not give music your best shot?? Give back for what you've been given. This is a mentality, its a badge of honor. It's a drive to get up off your ass and do something special that can make a positive difference for not only you, but for others around you. I'm proud of you Metallica. Its time for others to follow in your footsteps. Remember kids, give the world your best shot...it gave you life...now pay it forward bitches!!!
