Seriously, there are only so few bands that people even consider emo so its pointless. Besides, unless you hear the vocalist saying lets cut our selves, then its not emo. I was pissed when I found out that people have labeled the All American Rejects as emo. Move Along is such a calm you down song its not possible to be emo to that. Just thought Id get my thoughts out there.

Erm, I didnt say I listened to it. I saw an All American Rejects song in Rock Band listed as Emo, so that frustrated me. Besideds, I hardly like any songs by them anyways. wait, are you pointing out my spelling with that bid ass 'genre'? I got a B- in English man, cut me a break, haha

Fixed the thread title. Emo is a real genre, but most of the stuff that gets labeled as "emo" isn't really. The stuff that is ACTUALLY "emo" tends to suck. |

If you think something can be [i]really[/i] emo, or otherwise [i]faux[/i] emo, then you completely misunderstand genres. Therefore, the title of this thread is incredibly naive. |

it's a stupid thread. Stop fucking caring so much about what everyone thinks about your favorite music. You'd save a lot of energy and time spent whining because some idiot called your band emo. Just , put your headphones back on  , turn that shit up, and  . tl;dr: PEOPLE SAY THINGS THAT YOU MIGHT DISAGREE WITH. why is that so fucking hard for people to accept? |
