 The Smiths
Anyone else like 'em? Johnny Marr is one of my favorite guitarists ever. People who like early pillows stuff, particularly White Incarnation, would probably enjoy The Smiths. They're probably my favorite "jangly" band (although The Sundays come pretty close, if we're not allowing the pillows to count for this.)

Haha, "jangly". Anyway, I love the Smiths, especially "Cemetry Gates".

 Re: The Smiths
Cemetry Gates. I am indeed a fan, have been since I first checked them out last year. Morrissey is an amazing vocalist.

 Re: The Smiths
I have Louder Than Bombs, and there isn't much on it that I'm crazy for I have to admit... However, the song Ask ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=xtJtRXtaBN8) makes me feel so incredibly lovey. So yeah. I really dig Ask a ton. Also, The Boy With The Thorn in His Side is a track track.

 Re: The Smiths
Oh man, the Boy With a Thorn in His Side is so freaking good. Also, There is a Light That Never Goes Out. Basically, everything on The Queen is Dead.
The Queen is Dead is the must-have of Smiths albums, in my opinion, hit me up if you need it (read: if you don't have it).

 Re: The Smiths
!!!
One of my four-ish favorite bands (alongside the pillows, sparta locals, and queen. Crap, listing them out like that makes me feel like i'm neglecting so much other wonderful music, bah). Good to hear the love for Cemetery Gates, i never really thought of that as one of their more popular songs, but it's the one that cemented my love for them (and is quite possibly my favorite).
Ya, getting some live moz in my eyes is definitely one of those things thats gonna get done in my life...

 Re: The Smiths
This Charming Man Oh YEAH!
Maybe I should get The Queen is dead. Never heard a song from that album.
By the way, how about Morrissey's solo things? I saw him live once on a festival - he was amazing. Does someone have any suggestion about his best songs?

I also enjoy Cemetery Gates. I also love getting lost in How Soon is Now and adore Some Girls are Bigger than Others.

 Re: The Smiths
I like Hatful of Hollow and The Queen Is Dead the most, really. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is seriously one of the best songs ever.

 Re: The Smiths
Andy Rourke's bass playing style is pretty amazing. This Charming Man, The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, Girlfriend In A Coma. Great bass lines.

 Re: The Smiths
Don't forget Still Ill. He does have a great style. Wish more bassists were that melodic.
