Yngwie always sucked at G3. That's why he isn't in G3 anymore, and Satriani and Vai still are.

Okay guys I guess I should back up what I am saying. A long time ago when I used to party with my musician friends, I heard a lot references to how great Vai, Satriani and Yngwie were from NON-musicains that would party with us. But all of the guitar players and other musicians that would come by didn't think any of these guys were worth the wear and tear they put on the picks they used. All of the fancy, schmancy so called technical licks these guys use, any other guitar player worth their salt could do it their sleep. These guys really aren't that special. If you want to talk about great guitar players, talk about someone unique. Someone who actually had some originality. Here's my list.
Jimmy Hendricks
Eddie Van Halen
Carlos Santana
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Mark Knofler
Eric Clapton
Robert Cray
B B King
And there are a few more that I can't think of off the top of my head. Now those, those guys are REAL guitar players.
PS Forgive me if I spelled any of those names wrong, we all know spelling is not my strong suit.

No Mellie, no! I'll forgive the other name misspellings, but not Jimi.
Real guitar players? Try (just to piss Catfish off) the EDGE! Actually, I'm a big Jimmy Page fan. As for the technical skills category, I prefer Eric Johnson. He has better tone than Yngwie and pals. Cliffs of Dover, bitches.

Whoops! Sorry about that. I knew I would get that wrong.
Jimmy Page no no no. He doesn't fit in to this catagory. He is so over rated in my opinion.

While I respect the level of skill someone like Satriani or Yngwie plays with, I find them un-listenable. Maybe it's because they are not accessible to people who don't understand the technical aspects of their music, or maybe it's because many people prefer a more soulful and unique style of music. Either way I am not a fan.

No. He's great. Trust me. He comes up with brilliant shit in the studio. He belongs in here simply for the Stairway to Heaven solo. Also, ever heard "Since I've Been Loving You" ? *especially the live version*
