I don't keep track of music in my head as I do with movies, so I can't really answer this.
I guess Wake Upx x3 was one of my favorite albums of the year. My absolute favorite album would be the new Foo Fighters one, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.
I listened to a lot of older music this year. Straightener pretty much took up my summer after I discovered them in June.

No particular order:
Albums:
Iron and Wine - Shepherd's Dog
Elliott Smith - New Moon
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
Matt Pond PA - Last Light
Piebald - Accidental Gentlemen
Young Love - Too Young To Fight It
Songs:
Iron and Wine - Resurrection Fern
Iron and Wine - Flightless Bird, American Mouth
Iron and Wine - Innocent Bones (oddly enough, I disliked this song at first.)
Go!Go!7188 - Manatsu No Dance Hall
Go!Go!7188 - I forgot the song title, but it was on the Manatsu No Dance Hall single. It was the acoustic one. It started with a D, I think.
Elliott Smith - Whatever (Folk Song in C)
Elliott Smith - High Times
Elliott Smith - New Monkey
Elliott Smith - Miss Misery (Early Version)
Elliott Smith - Riot Coming
Elliott Smith - Thirteen
Elliott Smith - Angel in the Snow
Bright Eyes - Four Winds (Jesus, this song is annoyingly good. The only thing that bugs me is the violin line sometimes sounds like Santa Claus is coming to town.)
Bright Eyes - Make a Plan to Love Me
Bright Eyes - Soul Singer in a Session Band

Nope. I had the same problem this year. I pretty much only listened to new things from bands I already like and old stuff of bands that were new to me.
