The Japan Nite tour should be coming some time in March and I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up. Nothing is official yet but from what I've been told, the tour should be in Chicago on March 18th and in Denver on the 20th, all though that could change. I know The Emeralds are on the bill but I'm not sure about the other bands at this time. Also, I'm hoping to a book show in Minneapolis but that's still up in the air. Anyway, it should be a good time and I'm pretty sure they'll have shows on both coasts as well, all though once again, I'm not sure when and where at this time. I'll let you guys know when/if I find out more information. |

Awesome, hopefully there will be enough decent/good bands to balance out the Emeralds's suck again this year. ![]() |

I'd assume both a Knitting Factory show in NY & LA, as well as a T.T. the Bear's show in Cambridge will be on schedule as usual. Semi-OT: Yayoi of TsuShiMaMiRe wrote to me saying that they won't be on the Japan Nite Tour this year, but will be touring America in Fall '08. |

I'm crossing my fingers that we get some past favorites like Stance Punks and the Rodeo Carburettor on for this year, as well as some new bands too. **Big wishing for monobright ![]() |

Most people who have absolutely no concept of a foreign language generally try to avoid using it - but not the Japanese, who embrace it by naming their bands such things as "Stance Punks" and "Rodeo Carburettor." Is there some sort of stigma in Japan against giving your band a Japanese name? |

There are Japanese bands with Japanese names. 凛として時雨 immmediately comes to mind. 銀杏ボーイズ as well. English is just a popular language to name bands in, especially rock music, since it came from America. It's like paying respect to the roots maybe. Or rather, they jsut like English words. |

I also saw the Emeralds live, and still mad as hell that dude didn't give me one of his cranberry juices. Also wasn't impressed as well. Maybe they should spend less time touring and more time making more engaging and interesting music. And finding new outfits. |
