1. the pillows - KOOL SPICE

3. NUMBER GIRL - SCHOOL GIRL DISTORTIONAL ADDICT

5. Shinobu - Herostratsu vs. Time
Not necessarily in that order, but I'm really enjoying these albums right now. Of course, Ging Nang's kimi to boku no daisanji etc. would be on there too tied for some spot or other.

I have so much stuff to listen to!
I'm just now sinking my teeth into Toddle's Dawn Praise the World, and still listening a little bit to Bloodthirsty Butchers' Guitarist wo korosonaide.
Jemapur's Dok Springs has found a solid place in my car's playlist.

It's really great chillout music with a hint of glitch. I want to ride a bike around my neighborhood at night at listen to it...but wearing headphones on a bike is generally a bad idea. But at night, I guess it wouldn't be so bad.
My friend just introduced me to Venetian Snares (album: Rossz Csillag Allat Született)...really really fucking brutal drill 'n' bass with some good strings instrumentation. Sort of like Aphex Twin's rougher stuff from the Drukqs album.
I just realized I had Boom Boom Satellites' album On on my other computer, so I rescued that and am enjoying it pretty well.
And then yesterday I discovered that Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new E.P out called IS-IS, The New Pornographers have a new album out called Challengers, and Stars have a new album out called In Our Bedroom After the War. So I downloaded all three.

Harvey Milk - Courtesy and Good Will Toward Men (beautiful, desolate, depressing, and heavier than hell)
Songs: Ohia - Ghost Tropic (a vast soundscape that is probably about feeling really shitty, or at least that's how most of Molina's music strikes me)
The Roots - Do You Want More?!!!??! (everyone and their mother talks about Things Fall Apart and Phrenology and maybe occasionally Game Theory, but little do they know how fucking insanely good these guys were at the start - infectious hip-hop in its purest form.)
Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops (prog-metalcore? ah fuck, who cares, it's goddamn great)
J Dilla - Donuts (an assortment of retardedly good beats)

Muse - Absolution and Origin of Symmetry (I can't just pick one...)
Cake - Fashion Nugget
Pixies - Best of (lol, why pick one when you can have the best? )
Oasis - Stop the Clocks (again, why choose one?)
Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit (Their old stuff is too slow and lite for my tastes)
My tastes really change a lot during the year, so I may be listening to more Weezer, AKG, or pillows at a time.

Birdy is full of win, I would even go so far as to say it's on equal footing with Kocorono. I dunno what it is about the Butchers, but they create such amazing riffs that are... It's hard to explain, they fit the melody really well, but they're like second lead guitars, and it's just... crazy. Like, for instance, in Birdy, you have the lyrics and the guitar (the one that opens the song) and like, right before the chorus they do this crazy awesome thing in the left side of the speakers (now would be one of the times I wish I was musically literate, at least term-wise.)
So basically, you can love a Butchers song, listen to it with more detail and suddenly be shocked that you missed something so awesome, you love their songs even more.

I know what you mean. For the first time, I listened to BTB on my nice new stereo a few days ago, and I noticed all these crazy things on JACK NICOLSON especially, I couldn't normally with my normal crappy computer stereo. My favorite has to be walkman though.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Dude, totally listen to Bandwagon, focussing on the left speaker. That riff that they use is awesome; Walkman is one of my favorite Butchers songs. Rock on, Lostman, rock on.
