I'm pretty sure there are gonna be some people that think they're horrible here. I mean they're neither obscure nor very technical.

But recently I have been really taken by their stuff and was wondering if there were any other fans here.

I just added There Is Nothing Left To Lose to my collection of theirs and am really feeling the sort of powerpop/rock style in it. Though I like Color And Shape better.

Recently, I've learned bands don't really have to be obscure and technical to be good, catchy and fun. I've heard a few of their songs. I really, really like "Learn to Fly" and "DOA" (that video's kinda like the Sono mirai wa ima one >>). I don't really like "Best of You", though. I'll d/l more of their stuff when I get the chance.

As far as radio rock goes, they're actually alright.

Seconded. Grohl may mess up from time to time when it comes to his songwriting; but when it comes to his technical skills he's really good.

Foo Fighters were one of the first bands i ever got into back in the sixth or seventh grade or so. But like almost every band in the known universe, their earlier albums are much, much better than their latest ones. The first album is actually quite listenable imo, considering he played every instrument by himself. Colour and Shape is also decent. But Grohl also used to be funny. Now...

not so much. :|

Just needed to comment that the comments were surprisingly civil.

Im not that impressed with the new album. My favorite song would probably be Cold Day In the Sun from the acoustic disc. But considering it's double disc the 4 songs I can listen to multiple times is equal to a regular album with only 2 good songs.

I do however like the dualism of an acoustic album and electric album. I saw a show from their recent acoustic tour and it was actually very entertaining. Except for Grohl trying to ram Best Of You down your throat at every turn. But since it was written in dedication to his sister I can let it slide.

Thousands of cars and a million guitars screaming with power in the air. We've found the place where the decibels race, this army of rock will be there to ram it down, ram it down straight through the heart of this town.

you gotta admit, that their concert at Hyde Park was pretty damn impressive. The fact that they sold out a park with an 80,000 person capacity so quickly after the tickets went on sale is very impressive. The concert was pretty good as well.

A year after they completely stole the show at Live Aid...

Band: Queen
Year: 1986
Venue: Knebworth Park
Capacity: 120,000 (Some sources say 150,000.)
Sold out in: 2 hours

And that was way before ticketmaster.com.
