Post The Best Solo ever.
Name one. No ties. Just one track by one artist.
Let's switch it up here and restrict pillows songs.

Now you don't have to really believe that the solo is "the best ever". This thread is merely for discussion of/posting of kickass solos that make you air guitar them every single time.

I NOMINATE:
DragonForce - Trail of Broken Hearts.

It's the ballad on their most recent album, Inhuman Rampage. Dual-guitar trade-offs with fantastic attention to a great melody. The lyrics are so corny, but the song is oh-so good. It's less shreddy than the typical DragonForce solo, cause, yeah, ballad desu. But it's one of the best, hands down.

If you need to hear it, hit me up on AIM or something. You just need to hear it.

Anyways, gentlemen/women?

I don't like that song.

A Fair Judgement- Mikåel Akerfeldt

It's pretty rad, and it's the one I'm nominating.

I like Rhapsody's solo in Holy Thunderforce, and I like the one in Yokubou ROCK by Sambomaster.

Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb solo during the Pulse concert. Watching the dvd gave me goosebumps.

now your ships are burned - yngwie malmsteen

suprisingly tasteful, varied, melodic, and just the right length.

The solo goes into some Gary Hoey style surf shit half way through. What's not to love?

System of a Down - Question!

Awesome video, fierce galloping instrumental, then the BA DA DA comes in and it's just :whoa: Now if they'd stop making retarded novelty songs about BANANA BANANA BANANA BANANA TERRACOTTA BANANA TERRACOTTA, TERRACOTTA PIE, then maybe I could play through without skips.

Jimmy Eay World - Pain

Solid all the way through, then the solo is just intense and perfectly timed, great song, and the guy throwing himself down the stairs is just hilarious.

J Mascis and Broken Social Scene - Almost Crimes (Live)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo-qEvh0ew4

Most J Mascis solos are awesome, such as "The Lung."

I really like "Above The Winter Moonlight" by Dragonforce. For a shreddy band, they have surprisingly memorable melodic solos.

"Save Me" by Queen.

I've yet to hear a more poignant solo. Ever. And I challenge you to find me one.

I try not to post any Queen because I'm highly biased towards them, Queen being my favorite band ever. Great King Rat is pretty cool.

Or how about we inundate the thread with Queen songs.

Like "White Queen (As It Began)." Great solo there too; almost as poignant as "Save Me." It's his Godly tone that serves as the most perfect instrument of emotional expression.
