So currently I'm stuck at home nursing my mouth after having my wisdom teeth removed. I almost never ever watch TV, but now that I'm on my ass for the majority of the day, I have been. And is it just me or is the song "Woo Hoo" by the 5,6,7,8's used fucking EVERYWHERE??? I mean, I remember when Kill Bill came out the song was being used in like two or three commercials and now three years later it's being used in three DIFFERENT ones!? It's mind-numbing, I'm officially sick of the song, which sucks because it was basically the only 5,6,7,8's song I liked. Also fuck removing your wisdom teeth. I look like Bruce Campbell. |

I think the song's irritating as hell - even before Vonage raped/whored it. The 5.6.7.8.s are generally a good band though. "Jane in the Jungle" is godly instrumental surf rock. |

I remember getting my wisdom teeth pulled...fun times. Enjoy the ability to laze around for a while, play some video games or something. |

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Also been catching up on a bunch of movies I've needed to see along with my mom who's out due to foot surgery. She needs to see Borat, I need to see Sanjuro. Should be a swell double feature. Also been playing FFXII, which is a lot of fun. And I dunno, I really don't like revival bands and the 5,6,7,8's seem to fall into that category. I do like Jane in the Jungle though and there's one other song of theirs I like, but the title escapes me at the moment. |

I wouldn't really call them a "revival band". Yeah, surf-rock is way past it's prime...but it still stands on its own as a rock sub-genre. I dig it, and I need to hear more. Anyone have some recommendations? Besides Dick Dale. |

When I got by wisdom teeth removed I was told that I could bring a cd player and listen to music as I was going under so I made a cd with some music that I was into at the time. Anyhow, I forgot about the music when I was going under, but after I came to I remembered and started rocking out to "I Wanna Be Sedated" 'cause obviously that was the fitting choice. Since I was still all drugged up I ended up prattling on like some loony drunk about how awesome the Ramones where and how incredibly talented each individual member of Queen was(/is)... yup, thats how I lost my wisdom. |

I'll post my story here. My dad drops me off at the surgeon's office around 9:40, we're really early. I get in really quickly obviously, and for some reason I have a tendency to hit it off with pretty much any medical assistant I meet, and this time was no exception. The woman gave me laughing gas and I was stoned in two minutes. They put stickers on the ceiling for me to look at. They asked if they looked cool and I said the dinosaurs and the tractors looked particularly ridiculous. Then that one Eric Clapton song came on. I'm not sure what it's called... "If I Saw You in Heaven," maybe? Anyway, it's about his son who fell out a window at like 14 months or something. I told the assistant about the song and she said she hadn't noticed that in the lyrics and I started singing along: "My son fell out a windowwww..." After that I was out. I don't know if this is true for everyone on anaesthetics, but I didn't just get knocked out. I dreamed of some of the most bizarre shit in the world. It was like looking through a five-color prism, and I could see this insane stuff like Emma riding a giraffe on the moon saying "come and play with me" and I said "I can't darling I'm getting oral surgery" and then she looked sad and disappeared. Then it started getting really weird. As soon as they were done I was awake, but in no way able to walk around. I was shambling around everywhere, not able to get my bearings straight. I think a different assistant dragged me to a sleeping room where I sort of slept, drifting in and out of a somnambulatic state and murmuring words like "poncho" and "villegrass" to myself. Then the same assistant (who I think was from Louisiana) dragged me out on a wheelchair downstairs. I didn't want anyone in the elevator to see my face because it was all bloody and I assume mangled. I got down to the car and began to feel sick. Dad pulled over right next to Mary's and I spewed all over myself and the car, then on the sidewalk. Then I went home and passed out for like two hours. |

Going under for wisdom teeth was kinda crazy, I remember. When I came out they put me in a wheelchair and stuff and then I was helped into bed at home. I had this milkshake from mcdonalds that was huge. I think I only had one that lasted all three days, but my parents claim to have bought me a couple. |

Sanjuro is a beast of a movie. Toshiro Mifune is my hero. |

Yeah, I just saw it. It's probably the best Kurosawa I've seen so far, besides Yojimbo I suppose. This one was a lot funnier... the guy in the closet is my hero. |

I think Seven Samurai is better, but then again, watching the anime only enhances the experience. Too bad Kurosawa didn't direct the Samurai (Miyamoto Musashi) trilogy. Because that, is by far, the best Nipponjin trilogy evar. |
