Sonic Youth's new B-Sides and rarities album. I got it the first day it came out and didn't expect too much out of it, but i really like it. Especially Kim's Chords and Queen Anne Chair.

I also enjoyed their new album that came out in last summer, Rather Ripped. They're all in their late 40s-mid 50s and still putting out good stuff. Any others enjoy any Sonic Youth albums?

Funny. I didn't enjoy Sonic Youth's "Experimental Jet Set, Trash & No Star" at first listen but I enjoyed Number Girl's "Sasu-You".

Reccomendation starter albums?

Daydream Nation is widely considered to be their best album; I have it, and while some songs are okay, it's too artsy for me, and doesn't seem to "go anywhere", so to speak. I know Number Girl takes influence from them, but NG has a much tighter overall sound, if you ask me.

I did listen to clips of Sonic Nurse on iTunes, and it sounded pretty good. I'd check that one out.

What little I have bothered to listen to has been rather hit and miss. Rather Ripped seems to have some great guitar, but I wasn't feeling the vocals.

I don't think vocals have ever been Sonic Youth's strong suit, despite having three different vocalists. One of their most popular albums is Washing Machine, so you might want to check that out.

As for daydream nation, it's a great album. Eric's Trip, Total Trash, Silver Rocket, Hey Joni, Candle, all good songs.

this album is extremely hard to get into. you need to be doing something else while listening to it, like homework or driving. mind of a whatever reader, screaming skull, androgenous mind, and especially sweet shine are all good songs.

SO GET BACK IN THE BOAT....YA :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred: :groovin:
