Post subject:  Chord Progressions

Lately I've been coming up with a lot of stuff like this. Play through it and see how it sounds.
Intro

lA---lAma7---lA---lAma7---l

Verse

lA---lE---lF#mi---lD---l
lA---lE---lF#mi---lB7---l
*
lD---lDmi---lE---lE---l * Root 5 "C style"

Chorus

lD---lC#mi7---lD---lF#mi7---l
lD---lC#mi7---lBmi---lBmi---l

Verse

Intro to end it
For the intro, strum 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and. So pretty much 1/8th notes, but chords. Kinda do the same thing for the rest, unless there are two of the same chords, .ike the two E chords before the chorus and the two Bmi's at the end of the chorus. Let them ring out or something.

For the E c style chord, play an open C chord, but you can move it up and down the fretboard, by barring what would be open strings with your index finger, then forming the C chord with your middle, ring, and pinkey.

I have lyrics written, but they suck, so i'll be making some changes, then posting them maybe.

So, whatever.
|C---||*---||**---||G---|
|Dm---||Am7---||E7---||E7---|
|F---||C---||Em---|G---|
|G7---||C---||E7---||F---|
|Dm---||G7---||C---||C---|

Repeat or something, I dunno.
I'm too lazy to find out the names of the chords with asterisks , so...

What's wrong with that? I'm pretty sure F# is in the key of A.

Fuck. F isn't in the key of a. for some reason i wrote that out. Those Fmi's should really be F#mi's. my bad.

A lot of stuff always sounds like pillows songs. Like the F#mi to B7 makes me think of the worst song ever. My beautiful sun(irene). and the D, Dmi, E, E, reminds me of swanky street.

Would this be what they call inspiration?

I'm studying a lot of jazz stuff. I like to get all sexy in minor pentatonic. And the feel of Cadd9 just feels so . . right. I can strum it all day. Cadd9 can do me no wrong, oh.

I am pretty sure I proved you could use minor pentatonic for just about anything.

But I can always write a jazz song using all pentatonic scales.

And I hope you realize...

No Blues = No Jazz

The first half of that song wasn't minor pentatonic. And when you switched, it got all bluesy.

And how does no blues = no jazz?

Last time I checked, blues and jazz are totally different genres of music.
