Loudness=80s Japanese hair band that actually got air play on American MTV. Not to crazy about them myself. X-Japan would have been a much better choice in my opinon but that's just me.

hide is good. But have you ever seen any music videos of his solo work. He just kinda dances and its wierd. But it's funny and i really like his music.

You know you are probably on to something. I would assume it's some sort of an homage to them. KISS was probably the single most influencial band on Japanese hard rock-visual kei artists of the 80's.
