It's a B-Side album. And some of their best are on there. Plus 2 new songs.

Yet Tofu still won't release FANCLUB!!! What the fuck are they waiting for?!?!?

What the heck are you talking about? The review of Fanclub was mostly positive.

meh. It depends on who writes it. There are some albums that i like that they absolutely thrash on that site. WHAT DO YOU MEAN what do I mean?

I downloaded their RIJF2005 video to see what they were like. It's sitting on my computer wasting 450mb. They suck shit.

Their guitarist really holds them back. He has a cool technique / tone, but you can't keep REWRITEing the same hit. Same with the singer, to an extent.

I like their drums / bass.

I like some of their longer / slower songs like Kaigan Doori and Gekkou as well as some of their old shit, but I can't listen to an album all the way through - too monotonous.

I hope this B-sides collection has some off-the-wall, experimental shit, but I won't get my hopes up :|

i like their lyrics and singing. there are a certain number of songs that all sound like rewrite, flashback, and that first track off of sol-fa, but they also have great ones like sono wake wo, kimi to iu hana, kaigandoori, loop & loop, etc. i need to get more of their old stuff.

Sometimes they have some interesting guitar work, but yeah for the most part the bass and drums really make the band.

Too positive. FanClub sucks.

I realized a while ago that for AKFG, other than Loop & Loops, they're really generic-sounding.

Gotoh's vocals are so...damn...not interesting.

I honestly don't see how you can love AKFG but hate mainstreamy MTV pop-rock. The guitar work is definitely not anything to write home about, and it's just all rather uninspired.

Again, except for Loop & Loops. That song is so simple and lovely.

I won't pretend like AKG's got nothing in common with "mainstreamy MTV pop-rock", but they're definitely a step up. It's really frustrating that even though their music has evolved a lot in the past couple of years, they insist on using power chords almost exclusively. With Fanclub I think they've taken this "power chord rock" sound about as far as they can. There's a lot of great stuff on the album, but it could be sooo much better if the guitar parts didn't suck most of the time. Alright, I'm done defending AKG. Flame away.

Oh, and I think I must be the only person outside of rabid fangirls that actually likes Gotoh's voice. :|

So far I liked some of the tracks from Sol-Fa and the Blue Train single but the song itself is boring.
Their new stuff isn't getting any better it comes out with a nice intro and then chokes forward on.

um...me too. :? I think his voice is very suited to their music. Anybody else love the high notes on kimi no machi made's chorus?

I liked Gotoh's voice alot in Haruka Kanata and maybe Kimi No Machi Made, but his voice in the rest of their songs is meh.

I enjoy AKFG's songs,old AKFG>new AKFG IMHO
