2006 VMAs
SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED!!!!!!!!
Not enough screen time for Jack Black, too many rappers, emo won, they cut the Racontuers performances 30 seconds into each (even with Billy F. Gibbons playing guitar with them), and even ending with the Killers didn't save it! Fuck I didn't even recognize 3/4 of the groups this year!
My opinion: EMAs > VMAs. More artisy, funnier, better artists, and better hosts. Borat was awesome last year, Xzibit was surprisingly cool the year before, and Vin Diesel did quite a good job, too, the year before that. I wonder who's hosting this year...

By giving Panic at the Disco, one of the worst bands I have ever heard in my entire life, the "best video award", MTV has just destroyed all of their credibility in my eyes. Kill. THEM. ALL!!@@@@@@
Not as though they had much credibility in the first place.

I thought nobody watched MTV because it's dead. It's always the bix noods and the emo fags that end up winning anyways.

That horrid Picnic at the Strip Show video is actually worse the the song itself. It's ponderous, pretentious, and utterly insipid. Not to mention, a steamin' hot serving of stupid.

The best/worst part was the Britney Spears segment. When Jack said they were going to a live satellite feed of Britney and K-Fed, you could literally hear the entire audience groaning in disgust. The segment itself was horrendously not funny, as usual, but the difference was that the crowd was so cold and unresponsive that they didn't laugh along at the stupid skit since she's so out of favor.
Highlights:
*Davey Havok from A.F.I. accepting the award with his patented woman voice.
*Jack and Kyle Friendship song.
*Jack saying "bring the thunder" a petrillion times.
*The Killers performance
*Being more entertained by the "house band", with special guest Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, than most of the main show performers
*Al Gore bringing sexy back
Lowlights:
*Everybody saying a bunch of times, "MTV is playing more great rock music!"
*"I'd chime in with a haven't you people ever heard of, closing a GAH damn door..."
*FERGIE
*Missy Elliot getting pushed around on a miniature car.
*Chris Brown (who?) and Rhianna showing up in every fucking category.
*AVENGED SEVENFOLD WINS BEST NEW ARTIST. FUCK THE WHAT?
*Ted's Pants are falling apart twelfth time.

I couldn't watch it... I tried but it was too horribly boring. I just wanted to see the raconteurs but all their songs were cut short.
And I absolutely hate panic at the disco.. I don't know how people can listen to them.

Their performance was a blatant rip-off of every Gothic Lolita visual kei band ever in Japan. It was like Malice Mizer after Gackt left, only 30X worse!!!!
