Today marks the 60th anniversary of the birth of Freddie Mercury, who is undeniably the greatest voice rock and roll has ever, or likely will have ever, experienced. Long live Queen.

100% agree!!! That's why there are no Freddie Mercury impersonators. It's impossible to recreate the pure voice he had.

He's awesome. Thread over.

I would say he was the best at what he did, but I'n not sure he was the best rock singer ever. Jeff Buckley (and his dad, Tim Buckley) are pretty amazing sounding, and Bruce Dickinson is a great vocalist. But they didn't really sing the same way as Freddy, so it's not really a fair comparison.

buckley lovers and mercury lovers really need to start listening to jimmy gnecco...

on killtheband you'll hear some weird/new/experimental/depressing stuff... i was at that hotel cafe show and i really didn't like it on first listen either... just so you know.

jimmy gnecco is, in some circles, the next buckley (they were friends and there are a lot of songs about jeff). he also takes from queen and jellyfish, but not all that much.

I don't see how this is necessary.
