Have any of you listen to this band? They're pretty good, their current single "Salamander" f**king pwns.

I'll admit they have some catchy songs, but most are instantly forgettable. Ellegarden has come late to an already over-done subgenre, and I guess their attempt at english is admirable, most songs suck nuts and get too close to Blink 182 territory. A sad fact is that bands like this dominate the rock scene in Japan, and other than the Ging Nang Boyz, few talented, or terribly original bands have any success.

What a weird coincidence. "Riot on the Grill" just came into my mail slot today. It rocks!!!! "TV Maniacs" is such a true song.

I thought this band would've hit it big by now; considering 85% of their stuff is in English. But it doesn't help when no one sells the CD; not even the indie stores.

Well, as Last Dinosaur just mentioned, they're entirely unoriginal and forgettable. Why go to the trouble of importing when you can listen to a shitty rock band (singing in English, no less... where's the novelty?) on any American radio station?

...i like ellegarden. i think that they should do more of their songs in japanese, but i think that they, while not amazing, are a solid group with a good singer, and not all of their songs are just fun, mindless pop-punk crap-rock. i have my own destruction, missing, and (downloaded:) salamander. they're far from amazing, but a step above a lot of crap on the radio.

Doesn't sound too appealing to me.

Edit: I suppose it doesn't matter in this case, but when threads become many pages long, they become pointless to new readers, especially if the thread is revived.

In this section in particular, it makes more sense to simply bump the old thread than have like five threads on one band. It keeps things more organized.

Just listened to all those videos, and I'm calling bullshit. None of those bands sound like Ellegarden. That's making a huge, sweeping overgeneralization. It's like saying that all fans of the pillows must like Mr. Children as well. None of those songs have as good of lead guitar as Ellegarden, or as good of vocals. Have you ever ACTUALLY listened to Ellegarden recently? Because his voice sounds NOTHING like Tom Delonge, who has an admittedly whiny voice.
