If you haven't heard of them, they are a Japanese rock / electronic group that has been around since the mid or late 90s and pretty much kick ass. I stumbled upon the rest of their albums a few weeks back...I gotta say my favorite is Photon - great mix of jazz and a dark, intense atmosphere with even more intense beats, thanks to the amazing guest drummer... if this site doesn't peak your interest then uh...yeah...I have no candy for you! http://www.bbs-net.com/ I have their stuff on Soulseek if you want to put up with my crappy upload speed...I know ak! has them as well... |

Hehe, I saw them live in Osaka last year - played with the pillows and Doping Panda. If I had to gauge the crowd's reaction, all the japanese kids went just a [i]little [/i]more nuts when Boom Boom Satellites came on stage. That's all I've heard of them, though. The electronic elements were sort of interesting. I guess it was just a bit too...sad/loud for me. "I...WILL...DIVE...FOR YOUUUUUUU"

I first head them on Ridge Racer V. I found their US album at a used records store and "On The Painted Desert" is my favorite song from them. It's got a haunting cello part. Been years since I heard them. |

So I heard the songs from their new album here's what I thought. 1. nothing-the best song with the techno going along with the guitar 2. generator-fun song feels like you're in a rave 3. beat it-love the beat to this one the vocals are a mess along the way though 4. 9 doors empire-didn't care for this song 5. kick it out-slow start but it gets better forward sorta OVERALL:Good stuff but the vocals... |

However many months later, you come back to post Boom Boom again? I think I'll delete my Boom Boom stuff to make room for all the Number Girl/Zazen Boys things. |
