OK, have any of you watched the anime The meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya a.k.a. Suzumiya Haruhi no yuuutsu? It's very possibly my favorite show of all time. There are 12 episodes out, and two more are on the way.

Anyway, Suzumiya's voice actor sang for the show, and, as far as I know, it's her first work. I find it to be quite good. She sang the opening and the ending (along with two other voice actors for that one, but she was the main vocalist). The single for that ending sold quite well in Japan, getting decently high up on the Oricon, though I don't know the details. So, moving along, the most recent episode had two extra songs in it, which I happen to think are better than the previous ones. I very much like them. The single came out that has the full versions of them on it, and here they are, if anyone cares to try listening to them:

It wouldn't surprise me if she continues singing and becomes pretty famous due to this show. (By the way, the series of books that the anime is based on are apparently some of the best-selling books in Japan right now, next to The Da Vinci Code and such, so I'm assuming that the anime's doing really well, too.)

According to ANN, it's the second-most popular anime in the U.S.; and it hasn't even been licensed here yet!!! In Japan I hear it's EVA huge!!

Seriously, just try watching the show (anyone and everyone). It's awesome. There's a reason it's so popular. I don't think I'd be able to explain what the show's about without ruining it and/or making you think that it sounds stupid, though. You'll just have to try watching it and see what it's like.

I know, seriously. I'm curious as to the other musicians . . . I wouldn't expect this kind of thing from a single voice actor who sang for a show.

Seriously, it makes me think of the "fuck-ups" that happened during the showing (the actress who can't stop laughing, people getting hurt, that damn boom mic!). It's making me smirk until it hurts.

OK, I'll upload the other songs. It'll take a while, because I there are eight of them (with four just being instrumental versions of other ones, and I'll do those last). I don't think they are as good, and they are definitely different styles, but the ending song is really catchy and fun and it's impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to it. The opening is quite good, too. The extra two songs are meh. I guess I'll also get all the scans up.

OK, you'll probably be disappointed with these. They're very much different from the other songs I posted, and if you don't like them then whatever. Like I said, I think that Bouken Desho Desho? and Hare Hare Yukai (the OP and ED for the show respectively) are both quite good, but they're not like the first two I posted. (I chose to post those initial two because I just got them and liked them a lot and thought I'd share.)

EDIT: I'M AN IDIOT! I just realized, after doing all that work, that it would have been [i]so[/i] much easier for both the uploader and downloader if I zipped thing things up.. . I'll probably do that tomorrow. And, that way, the poster scans will be easily included.

You can find the character volumes soundtrack things at Galbadia Hotel, and they're pretty good, though some of asahina's songs can be annoying.

Also, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya comes to America on May 29th. DVDs will be on sale then.

Oh, sure. I got a bunch more, too, but most of the songs aren't actually that great, because, you know, voice actors are singing them. I actually haven't even listened to all of them, and I never listen to them anymore. They're cute, though, if you like the show. Apparently there are like 14 versions of Hare Hare Yukai, the ED theme, now. Anyway, if you want those character ones, you can try following the link that other guy posted, or I can give them to you, because I think I have them all.
