 GLAY
Any fans here?
I just "obtained" their 2001 album, ONE LOVE, and so far I'm very impressed. Its a bit "J-POP" in some regards, but definately still rocks hardcore. The overall sound of the music is close to what you hear on the fight scenes of Japanese movies like Advent Children. The songs are pretty varied, there's even a reggae bit thrown in there for good measure. Some people may find the guitar a bit bland in some places. It's mostly just really fast power-chords with some crazy effects...but eh I like it.
...in any case, it's way better than the pillows' Good Dreams.
Any other reccomendations?

That may be, but Glay DOES suck. So their VK-ness is rather irrelevant.

Eh...what exactly is the definition of VK? Is it all just in how the band presents themselves visually? Boy George + Twisted Sister + old Bowie = VK?

Having bad music and trying to cover it up with lots of blush?

The combination of shitty music, promo photos which feature trendy haircuts, and the copius amounts of makeup it must take to make swao look young, persuades me to think that my foot deserves a vk seal of approval.
It's only fair.

okay, from the second picture... close.
but don't forget bright, unnatural-colored hair and outlandish gothy clothing.

I downloaded a couple of their albums a while back, but I only liked two songs. "Two Bell Silence" and "Kanojo no Modern". Their visuals certainly does not make it easy for serious music fans to like them. The only person allowed to get away with dressing like that is David Bowie aka Ziggy Stardust. He did it 30 years ago when it was atleast somewhat original.
