So the new album, Funk-a-lismo, was released or whatever. My copy was shipped today (with bonus DVD, huzzah). So let's discuss their past awesomes.

Does anyone else share my strong affection for this magical band? I'm sure I'm not the only one. They really don't get much love on the various Japanese Music forums, from what I've seen. Shame, really.

Hey everyone is right to their own opinion. If I say the song has got soul (like this song in particular), then I'll say it's got soul. If it's shitty (like every Black-Eyed Peas song ever written), then I'll say it's shitty. I know comparing it to James Brown sounds like a bad analogy; but that was how it sounded the first time I heard it. After a few more times, maybe it'll sound like something else.

No, they are pretty James Brown inspired. Though I wouldn't say "only cooler 'cause it's in Japanese!", which is what I think Steve was referring to.
