Well SXSW is known to have a lot of different genre's of music. I think it's good to see kind of a mix of Japanese bands.

sxsw is more of a showcase for interesting, lower-profile bands than just a collection of big-name acts (not to say they don't have big names). but dir en grey seems to be fairly well-known in japan as well as abroad... they've actually made the oricon (japanese equivalent of billboard charts) top 10 singles chart.

and some of us just think they dress funny. :)
