Post Holophonic Sound Technology
Developed in the 1980s, but audio engineers are finally nailing it down.

Basically it's this technology that "tricks" your ears into thinking it hears sound in 3-Dimensional space. So instead of hearing (from headphones) somone talking on the left side or on the right side, you can hear them infront, behind, above, or below you. It's really trippy.

You'll need to use headphones to get the effect. Speakers will just give you a left-right effect.

Cool, eh?

Awsome stuff. They had something which I assume used the same technology at that Disney World animal kingdom place, but with more exciting animal/nature noises and effects - a tiger breathing in your ears for instance, it made it seem like you could feel it's breath on the back of your neck.

Pretty cool indeed, I remember that I already heard some songs with headphones that sorta gave that impression, but maybe it was unintentional.

i was laughing so hard when this happened because i was seriously freaked out. my house is slightly haunted, mind you.

i think they could do a lot more than this, but this track, "mexican breaking into your house and shaking maracas around your head" is pretty good.

That is pretty neat. There's some real trippy potential for mixing music with this. It'd be wierd if music sounded like the guitars were playing above or below you.

It's pretty disturbing that you know about that.

Wait.
