My Way My Love (version 3)
Well I went and saw them last night. OMG!!!!!!! Craziness at it's best.
First off there were four bands that played at The Turf Club last night, most of which weren't anything to write home about. Anyway apparently MYML was supposed to go on first, however they got caught in a snow storm in Milwaukee (?spelling?) and were two hours late getting to Saint Paul, so they had to perform last. We didn't get there until about 10:30 because for some odd reason, I thought they would be the last ones to go on anyway so that was pretty lucky for me. Actually, they were hauling in there equipment when we got there. Long story short before they went on, I met their manager, Bojan. We talked for quite some time and he told me all kinds of interesting little tid bits. Nice guy he is. It's pretty cool how he became their manager. Anyway, these guys were so tired after being on tour for 4 or 5 days strait and getting caught in a snowstorm, that thier drummer fell asleep sitting at the CD table and their bass player litterally sat down in a corner at the back of the bar and fell asleep. Poor little guy, he just looked so exausted. Yukio, their lead singer, is just the nicest, sweetest most polite person I've ever met. At one point when I came out of the bathroom, he was coming down the tiny littel hall that led to the restrooms and he backed up like five feet, smiled at me and gestured for me to go by and said "Hello". So polite! But when he is on stage, he is an absolute lunatic! Which brings me too:
Their performance. Okay. like I said, they were SUPPOSE to go on first but because they were late, they got to go on last. Therefore the majority of the people there, came to see the band that went on before them. Needless to say when this band played, it was pretty pakced in front of the stage. Anway, after this band was finished some people left, (stupid, stupid people) and everyone cleared out of the front stage area. Then when MYML came on, there were maybe five people standing in front of the stage watching them. Well all of the sudden, while MYML was playing, people started to migrate up to the stage front because they were so good. Little by little, the crowd in front of the stage got bigger and bigger untill it was pretty damn crowded up there. Then Yukio just lost his mind. He started flailing him self about, flinging himself over the drum set, Flung himself into the crowd, ran off stage, ran around after he threw his guitar on the stage, came back on stage picked up his guitar, started playing again, flung himself over the drums set again, flung him self into the crowd again, only this time the crowd was ready so they caught him and started bouncing him up and down, got back on stage screamed, sang and played some more and did it amazingly. I think he flung him self over the drum set three times total. The first time they had to get a tech on stage to fix some problem that he caused. Then of course when the whole thing was over, their drummer flung himself into the crowd as well. All this entertainment and a musical performance that was even more amazing than the antics. After they were done, I shook Yukio's hand and told him how amazing I thought they were and smiling in a very sweet and unassuming manner, he shyly said, "Oh thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed the show. Arigatou." Night and day, let me tell you.
Anyway, please go see these guys if you can, they are absolutley amazing live. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Forgive my typos, I'm too f***ing tired to correct them.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, Mellie. Bojan told me they're coming back in March, so that means I'll have a chance to make up for missing them in December. :O

If they are playing a venue that you can go to, go! They were amazing. I have never seen anyone put as much energy into playing live as Yukio. I'm still a bit amazed by it.
I will definitely check them out again if they come back to the Twin Cities.
EDIT: By the way, buy the CD everyone. It's only 11 bucks.

Damn, hearing how the show was so good makes me even more pissed that I couldn't go to their show in SF. Hopefully next time around...

Awesome. Now all they need to do is play at a club that's not 21+.

I would be interested in going if it's at least 18+.
March is starting to look like a good month for me (music-wise).

Many venues do this so that people like you don't ruin the mature people's time.
Of course, people like me get stepped on in the process.

or because they serve alcohol.
i don't really know why it's okay if you're 18-20, but i think they just stamp your hand in that case.
