Post Best Performances
I like the 1969 Wood Stock concert When Jimi Hendrix performs Purple Haze Live it was amazing! And Carlos Santana's Band performs A instrumental song I can't remember the name of it. But it was spectacular.
I wasn't Born until 1989 So I didn't go and didn't noticed it at all. Until my dad told me. He was there!. I couldn't see him in the video though. I watched the tape of it thanks to my dad.

Live rock music is cool, but there aren't too many "amazing performances" I can think of, other than shows I can gush about because I actually saw them in person. With rock music, bands seem to generally be great live, instead of having amazing stand-out shows. The Who's 1969 Live at Leeds, however, is a great performance. As far as jazz goes, Jazz at Massey Hall (1953, Charlie Chan, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Max Roach, Charlie Mingus) is pretty incredible, historic performance. Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers Live at Cafe Bohemia (1955) is two hours of awesome, and very worth hearing.
pink floyd at live 8
according to my dad (who went to a number of pink floyd concerts) the live 8 show was their absolute worst.

i'm gonna have to agree with tuffghost and say that the best show in my opinion was...this one...

i have those tracks 3-11 if you're curious.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy about the Live 8 set list. They just played the four most overplayed Floyd songs in existence. I mean, it wasn't bad or anything, but it wasn't that great compared to the giant library of awesome Floyd bootlegs out there. Also, Roger "I'm a douche" Waters needs to stop being a douche.

Roger Waters spit on my godfather.

Of show's that I've actually seen in person I'll have to go with Fantômas at the Roseland, April 2005.

And what the hell, I'll go with Joni Mitchell performing at Woodstock.

Because I can.

I still think it was awesome, simply because they finally got back together.
