I guess if the noise bugs you, then they're probably worth it. Doesn't really bother me, unless I play right next to a monitor/tv.

Noiseless so you can't cause feedback sounds? I suppose it depends on what you're playing. If you're going for a softer rock type of sound, then yeah, I think the noiseless pickups would be rad. But if you're going for a heavier sound, screechy feedback noises are your pal.

Worked for Nirvana.

Kurt Cobain didn't get them, and look where he is now.

I don't see why anydbody wouldn't want them. Isn't noise in a negative connotation? Like it get's rid of "hum" that most strats have. They don't really cut back on anything except negative noise.

That's right.

They don't cancel out feedback, just unwanted hums and buzz.

In your own words, it depends on the sound you're going for. Perfectionists would probably dig noiseless ones. More "ruff roun' th' edges" types like Tom Morello and the grunge players would probably call them sacreligious.

Apples and oranges.

Tom Morello is an extremely technical player, and I'm sure he only wants noises that he creates.

Constant buzzing is not a trademark of grunge.

Although lack of skill usually is.

But Morello would never use noiseless pickups. He uses them to his advantage.

He was a member of Rage Against the Machine.

Oh and now he plays with Audio Slave.

Michael Angelo Batio was one of his many guitar teachers.

So yeah, he can shred when he wants to.
