Do you guys have a bassist? I'm considering buying a bass soon, and if you guys need one it would motivate me much more into practicing. Just make sure to choose a song that has tabs I could also play guitar, but as I stated before, I'm not as good as most people on IM.

If you guys need a bassist, I'll be down for it. It's not like the pillows have any sort of difficult bass lines, so if I don't know it, I can learn it pretty quick.

My bad Also, I agree with GR, let's do something different/original. Let's not bastardize Ice Pick, though

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
The vocal melody on Ice Pick would be MAD fun to play around with slightly. Swanky Street would be my next choice, followed by Strange Chameleon, I suppose, if we're looking at things in the band scores.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
I play guitar. I don't know if "Ice Pick" is in the band scores, but somebody make a GP5 file and post it here (if it's in the band score). If it's not in the band score, a few of us can tab it out, and pick the best one. Of course, the tab will merely be a guide, but it's important that it's an accurate guide.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
Sign me up for vocals and rhythm.
I think we should do something like divide up into groups of four and have each group make a song then combine all the songs onto an album.

I agree. Choose the melodic songs that a piano could work with if you want to work with me.

Strange Chameleon could be really great with a slow, melodic piano arrangement. Ice Pick would also work well.

Alright so let's do something like this-
We make a poll voting for songs that we will cover and everyone on IM votes.
Then we start threads for each song and get the members that will participate in the "band" that will cover it. The band can cover that song, maybe do another one if they want in addition, and then they'll send their parts to the member of the group that can edit them together.
That person sends it to whoever is leading this project [Mare?], and then we zip them all together.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
I find it a bit funny that you guys are also coming around to doing covers as well. At Moletown we've been working with the idea of making a big pillows cover album due to their 20th anniversary and so far we have a good amount of partial and finished covers. And honestly I think it would be awesome to collaborate if possible with you guys here at Instant Music. I'd also be happy to help with vocals if you guys want.

We'll split of into groups of 4.
Personally, i'll take on Ice Pick or Strange Chameleon, depending on what spots are available.
Sounds like a great thing coming.

I can go for vocals, lead or back-up, whatever works. I've got songs like one Life,The Third Eye, and Boat House down pretty well.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
Do any of you guys know how to play guitar and sing at the same time?
If not, shouldn't it be two guitars instead of one?
Also, I know Sawao's part in Tokyo Zombie pretty well, does anyone feel like doing TZ?

Do any of you guys know how to play drums? If not, then we're going to need a lot of people sequencing drum parts, because I sure as hell am not going to be doing it all.
