I dug through my old CDs and started listening to Garbage again. I listened to Version 2.0 and it was like... yeaaah, this is still good.

I've been getting into Oasis, and Coldplay. On the J-Music side, I like Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Sambomaster, Guitar Vader, Ellegarden, and of course the pillows!

Re: Artist you're currently listening to.
Now I'm exploring a bit more with albums: "Marquee Moon" (by Television), "Psychocandy" (by The Jesus and Mary Chain), and "Loveless" (by My Bloody Valentine)

I've been meaning to get one of their albums. I've only heard that one song that's in Lost in Translation and I freaking love it, but I just always forget to look up other stuff.

Yeah Loveless is really something else, it's a very addicting album. Marquee Moon is pretty good too, but Psychocandy is definitely an acquired sound.

Re: Artist you're currently listening to.
That thread about New Animal and the link to that Dinosaur Jr. song(http://pirouzu.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3935&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=90) made me start listening to them again. I got into them for a very short period of time and then sort of left them behind for some reason.

Re: Artist you're currently listening to.
Heard any City on Film lately?
Nope! Can't say I've kept up. Sorry, my mind seems to move at about a jillion bolts per second, and I'm already awash in too many newer and new-to-me artists and gaining more all the time.
See, I've already moved on to metal as we speak!
Nightwish. Dark Passion Play. "Bye Bye Beautiful" "Amaranth"
Colossal and ornamentally stunning, this album, along with the one below, demonstrates just how beautifully epic metal has become in recent years.
Blood Stain Child. Mozaiq. "Metropolice" "Freedom" "Peacemaker" "Neo-Gothic-Romance"
Four songs this time for probably my favorite album of 2007. If you could imagine an In Flames or a Dimmu Borgir who let melancholy have more sway amongst their obliterative roars, or a Dream Theater who've woken up and started wantonly adjusting and dancing to their alarm clock's audio samples, or any combination thereof, Blood Stain Child is what your brain might register. Crushing and eminently poignant parts of this album can be painful enough to bring me close to tears, but "Peacemaker" comes the closest with just four un-poetic words underneath a floating synth overlay. And then pretty much out of nowhere, the lyrics for "Neo-Gothic-Romance" in the CD booklet become so life-affirming, I can even forgive the fact that I can't actually discern any of them within the song itself.
"I am here. My home. Wonderful starry sky. True blue Mother Earth. I am floating.
Here is a pitch-dark space. Nothing. Still...still, I am alive. Life=Hope I find the possibility. Time is eternal. Life is a moment. A light passes in the space."
They could use a new back-up vocalist. But that seems exceedingly trivial in comparison to everything else they have to offer.
Coincidentally, I'm currently on the lookout for Japanese metal. Any bands you guys could suggest would be most helpful (preferably non-VK, but I'll at least sample any recommendations).
