I didn't hear it, but from what i can gather i'll say this: when you start out, better to play what you can slow than what you can't fast
Wrong. You're supposed to slow the whole song down to a speed at which you can play it and then start increasing speed.
way to re-word what i said you sir, are a musical genius.
THE FUCK? You said that you should try to play things you can't play fast. That is the fucking opposite of what I said. You're supposed to play things that are hard slowly first. I never said anything about playing things you can't play at a fast tempo. Learn to communicate your point clearly. Is English your first language? EDIT: Oh well, you tried to sound smart, and hopefully had fun doing so, so I guess it's ok that you failed miserably.
let me break it down.
heres what i said:
if you know a song... better to slow it down and hit the right notes, than try to speed it up above your abilities and make it a sloppy mess.
ohhh you've got a little temper. watchout!!

Try to write in sentences that include the necessary information to understand your intended meaning. Let me help.
"When one is a novice, it is better to slow the piece of music down to a playable speed than to play it at a speed that is too fast for clean playing."
If you would have written like that and not placed commas in terrible places, your meaning would have been much clearer. Sorry that I misunderstood you (and subsequently ripped you a new one), but I have trouble reading things written in a confusing manner. I read your post as "It is better to play what you can slow, then play what you can't fast." It was the damn comma that threw me off.

hahaha yeah. And english is my first language, but living in DC, it seems to be skewed grammar-wise at times.
"Chain" is a very cool song. Sort of reminds me of Pixies' "Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons." I can definitely hear some Jesus and Mary Chain in there too. The song sort of feels like it needs vocals though. Edit: I think I've posted this song somewhere before, but whatever. It's a song I recorded a few months ago. It's not my most interesting work, but it's a nice song. This was also recorded before I got good at singing, so take that as you will. http://consumersband.isgreat.tv/twenty_minutes_new.mp3And here's some insane artsy nonsense I recorded: http://consumersband.isgreat.tv/bear.mp3
Hey, I never thought of that, but it does sound alot like 'Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons'. It's cool you noticed that. The JAMC influence is rather obvious though, *points to title of song*.
I also was thinking of Death in Vegas when I was recording it. They had just as much influence as anybody, especially their Scorpio Rising release.
I really liked your first song. Yes, you had posted it before, but it's still good.

Hm. I don't think I've ever listened to Death in Vegas. I get the impression that maybe I should?

Indeed.

If you scroll down to where it says "Recordings" you can listen to the whole
Scorpio Rising album. Just click "scorpio rising" which is right under the album cover.
You will probably remember the song "girls" from Lost in Translation.

on this htread there was something about playing music slowly to get it worked out, then get it fast?....
In band, we play the songs slowly, play them at the speed we want them (to see how is feels), bring it down to the slower speed, get them good and fixed, and go faster and faster everyday.
...well it's still music, right?

A song called Pain recorded almost two years ago by one of my old bands, Euphoric. I must stress that this song was recorded very poorly and, at the time of this recording, poorly rehearsed. Me on the $100 dollar guitar. 'Save target etc' plz.
Edit: You'll have to turn your sound up pretty high to hear it. Sorry for the crappy quality.
