 Re: Radiohead (in general)
New Radiohead album is out. King of Limbs. I'm gonna listen to it later. Has anyone listened yet? Thoughts?

It's out today? I thought the digital release didn't drop until tomorrow.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
The album sounds less like Radiohead and more like the follow up album to The Eraser. It's okay...but it feels like this album severely under uses the members of the band. I understand that they got over using their own instruments during the Kid A sessions, but this is just ridiculous. This album should have been released as an Atoms for Peace album. I would definitely tell Radiohead fans expecting anything similar to In Rainbows to skip it, I'm actually sorry I spent money on it, because this album is disappointing, but mainly because it sounds more like Yorke's solo material than anything Radiohead's ever done.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
I have The Bends. I don't like it. Am I listening to it wrong? Websites like AllMusic regard Radiohead as this end-all, be-all band.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
the minute many people just getting into Radiohead get over them being labeled 'the only band that matters' by fans and critics alike, is when they'll probably start enjoying their music. I had to get over it, it took me years to start enjoying all of their albums. Their style is so varied, it's difficult to not find at least a few songs you like. Also this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfOa1a8hYP8If you don't like this song, you won't like Radiohead's new album. Some of the songs are growing on me, but my general opinion about it remains unchanged. decent album but those who didn't like the Eraser won't like King of Limbs.

Tracks I particularly like: Morning Mr. Magpie Codex ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5c9w6uWBOI0) Give Up the Ghost Don't like Bloom or Feral really, but other than that it's a pretty solid album with a lot of very atmospheric tunes.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
I think it's okay. I like stuff like OK Computer and In Rainbows much more than this, but I still think it's much more listenable than Kid A (my vote for 'most overrated album of all time.')

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
Kid A's got its moments. As for The King of Limbs, I think that pretty much everything but Feral and Lotus Flower jives with me pretty well at this point, but the final three tracks are definitely my favorites. That build at "I think I should give up the ghooooooooost" is just brilliant, but both Codex and Separator have similarly awesome moments.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
I like Kid A better. It's admittedly 'colder' but i absolutely love some of the tracks on it. It's nowhere near my favorite Radiohead album though, I like it about as much as Amnesiac.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
I'm an OK Computer / In Rainbows guy. Those two albums are the standouts, and the definition of the band for me.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
It's a nice, little album. Lotus Flower is one of the best things they've done in recent years, and Codex is beautiful. But for an 8-track album, someone would expect much more. Two aspects I was willing to mention: 1) their sound is becoming very dull and predictable with every album, and 2) the lack of guitars for a band with three guitarists is somewhat appalling.

 Re: Radiohead (in general)
OH SHIT, A ROCK BAND IS BRANCHING OUT, SOMEBODY CALL THE WAHMBULANCE.
In Rainbows had plenty of guitar. I see no problem with this.
Also, Give Up the Ghost is the best track.
