Definitely not going to argue that Just Like Heaven isn't a fantastic song, I've just loved Love Song for ages, and I feel like it's one of those songs that's just on the legendary level.

True. Everyone else says the love song is the best one they have. But we all have our own opinions. Have you heard the recent work they've done? I haven't. But like most bands. The older they get the more there new stuff tends to be different and not good.

I've been creating various accounts and uploading some of my favorite music to Fileden recently, mostly for the sake of back-ups (I think my hard drive might be failing or about to fail TʌT ) and sharing with friends, but it includes the additionally cool benefit of directly listenable song links.

Big Country - "In a Big Country"

Much of the hope I have for humanity is thanks to Stuart Adamson (rest easy, man, rest easy).

MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS - "Highlight"
These girls might become my new favorite band if they can keep up this kind of pace (and learn to control their 9-minute-instrumental-song-creation impulses).

I vote we make this our new U.S. national anthem. Of course, we'd have to first understand that emo was once a romantic ideal before it devolved into a bad haircut.

First we'd have to understand that emo is the most bullshit name for a genre of music ever. Everything and anything gets lumped in with that now, it's the new umbrella label for "pop-rock."

I hate hearing that wall-of-sound+broken-hearts = pop=rock. There's a difference between popular rock and pop rock. pop-rock =/= emo

I read somewhere that emo was originally acoustic guitar with falsetto vocals and dreary lyrics. :eh:

Anyway, anybody else listen to FISHMANS?

Yeah, when I first heard about Jimmy Eat World, I just thought it was a cool new rock band. Not at any point while I was listening to Bleed American did I think anything was different about it stylistically from other rock artists at the time, just a unique sounding band. At that point, I wasn't fully aware of genre labeling, and when I read emo on the internet, I was like wat? :?

Robot Factory :shred: :shred:

Bonus points awarded.

Also, I've heard Zeppet Store's name tossed around quite a bit, I'll have to check them out, just listened to "rose" on youtube and they sound decent, if a bit run-of-the-mill.

Going to push Mock Orange and Plus-Minus again, as they're both amazing bands.

Yeah Rose is from their poppier album. I compare ZEPPET STORE to Radiohead a lot but with a more rock sound. I uploaded some songs from their first album (very similar to Pablo Honey) and a song from their 2nd album onto youtube a while back. They don't exactly do the band justice though since they really mature their sound and make some great experimental masterpieces in their later albums (not to the degree as Radiohead). I could send you some of their other songs over AIM if you want since it's hard to track down most of their discography on torrents and slsk.
