Re: Post your songs.
maybe you should be more clear which you're referring too then lol. Assuming what you're referring to with pop-punk is bands that came about after green day, offspring, and rancid revived punk in the early nineties. blink 182 and such crap.

Sorry, we can't all be top-grade musicians.
Obviously, punk isn't everyone's genre. But seriously, I'd appreciate it if you didn't completely insult us. By all means, criticism is fine. But just slamming our music isn't helpful nor is it respectful. With all due respect, if it's not your thing, then please kindly stfu.

not a direct criticism to you, just a lashing out at bad punk in general

Also, I made no insults, but simply criticized that the songs don't seem to have enough variety for me.

Re: Post your songs.
If you think this is crappy mall-punk you could use an education in punk. It's got a pretty good vibe, doesn't sound like it's playing to a trend.
also the off-vocals and dirtier sound is the draw of punk. If you've ever been to a real punk show you should understand this. The rough edges make the music more relatable instead of being up on a pedestal like so many musicians like to be.

I enjoy punk, and I am well-versed in its ways. Punk is simply more about attitude than it is about music, although each band has its own priorities. It doesn't make it better or worse, or more or less relatable (God knows you're talking out of your ass on that one). Finally, I don't think poor vocals is a draw of punk, but let's just say that singing like Barry Manilow will make it difficult to retain the right attitude.
For the record, I liked Eastern Turkish, but it was nothing special. However, it definitely wasn't the shitfest you all made it out to be.

I grew up a huge fan of punk(although I was more of a hardcore fan, i.e. minor threat/fugazi/rites of spring, dead kennedys) as well, and I agree with Sheer that it was more about the DIY ethic and attitude that drew listeners in. It was more about a scene that anyone could be a part of, whether they were bad at their instruments (see Sex Pistols) or actually had the skill to be pro musicians (see Bad Brains). But for someone to say that punk is a limited medium of expression doesn't really know what 'punk' means since the word has been bastardized over the last three decades.
I recommend you guys take a look at a documentary called Punk: Attitude. It really explains the origins of punk and what it meant exactly to the people who were involved in it way back when.

Did you say spoiled? Interesting? Catchy?
I already forgot the hook. Which is a great song, by the way.

Re: Post your songs.
i despise shitty pop punk more than just about anything else, coming from a background of pretty much straight early 80s hardcore.
that doesnt mean i dont acknowledge that there really are a few pop punk bands that are good..
well, shit. mostly just the descendants.

New song. Not sure many of you will like it, but posting. Yes I'm aware of background noise/guitar mistakes. Don't really care, it's just recorded for the sake of having the file for reference in the future. http://www.mediafire.com/?jznmozmf50m

"if you want to be obscure"
Not the point here, I want good, catchy punk that's good either way.
