mainstream punk/emo music is maintained mostly by teenage girls because they sing about things those girls want to hear about and girls listen more for words from their pretty crushes. Guys bandwagon because it's easy too get their music and it earns points with said teenage girls.

and since our board lacks this teenage girl and bandwagoning teenage boy dynamic we cant really understand. I know some 19-20 year olds that still like fallout boy, however its mostly they came from the area I live in.

also, try to check yourselves when talking anti-mainstream. Because if a noteworthy band becomes mainstream, you would miss out because of a silly generalization.
