Edit: only two shows listed on their web site, both in Japan (but later this month); English web site lists 2010 shows. Idk breh.
I should have known better. I saw the same for The Pillows to play in Atlanta and I checked the main site...of course they were not!

Re: The Last Show you Went to/Next Show you will Go to
Hokay, so we hit up Coachella this year. It was amazing and awful and magic and nightmares all rolled into one, in various ways, but was ultimately super, super worth it for the killer lineup this year.
We saw mad bands, those I would highly recommend to you all if you have the time are in bold:
Friday, Apr. 21
• Tennis • Nora En Pure • King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard • Bonobo • Tacocat • Bicep • Father John Misty • Guided By Voices • Radiohead
Highlights - Bonobo and his hella guests/epic live arrangements, FJM's glorious voice and incredible new material. Nora En Pure may not be everyone's cup of tea, but damned great set and worth trying even if you're not big into electronic.
Saturday, Apr. 22
• Autograf • Local Natives • Car Seat Headrest • The Head and the Heart • Surf Curse • Mura Masa • Tycho • Moderat • Bon Iver • DJ Snake • Breakbot
Highlights: calling Car Seat Headrest's Telecaster usage by the sound of it from 1/4 a mile away (and honestly, their entire goddamned set - emotional rock music with a tinge of 60's pop; gorgeous), Tycho debuting a song with a vocalist, Bon Iver and his hella guests/sick arrangements/awesome preachy messages.
DJ Snake is every party DJ you have ever seen turned up to a hilariously awful-good level. Seems like a very self-aware and fun sort of "over-the-top." Also, fire. SO MUCH FIRE. Literally giant plumes of flame over and over in the middle of his set lol.
Sunday, Apr. 23 • The Antarctic Tent (not a band, but a great 10 minute preview of what a HUGE dose of psychedelics can get like) • Grouplove • Porter Robinson & Madeon • Jai Wolf • New Order
Highlights: Porteon last ever Shelter show together before they go back to their individual projects w/ feels train turned up to 9001, Jai Wolf taking us on an adventure, and New Order proving that they are one of THE GREATEST BANDS OF ALL DAMNED TIME.
New Order in particular blew us both away. Saw them back in 2011 and it was amazing, but they've totally reworked their performance. The visuals and light show were infinitely better than Radiohead's half-assed band collage with color textures display - we had just come from Porteon and Jai Wolf, which are shows where the visuals are crafted carefully for each song in a way that rock bands simply do not do...but fucking New Order did. They also reworked their style to incorporate newer electronic techniques, basically redefining what New Wave can be.
Dear god, please see New Order the next time you can if you're into them at all, or even just new wave itself. The kings of the genre, breaking new ground even now.

Caught Mono when they came through NYC, been wanting to see them for years. Super psyched and they lived up to expectations. I felt feelings getting lost in their soundscapes

Going to Troubadour to see Mother Mother this 23rd of May. I hear their live performances are excellent so I'm excited to see them extremely close up!
Here's what they sound like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlAiq0_BXac

Troubadour is a cool venue, we saw Kevine Devine play an acoustic set there like last year or something. That song had really clever lyrics.
Going to Troubadour to see Mother Mother this 23rd of May.
Being from Vancouver, I've seen Mother Mother several times! Always a really fun show, though I will say they've lost me on their recent few albums. Touch Up, O My Heart are incredible albums (Eureka has some great cuts too, like "Problems") - a pretty unique sound they found. I hope they find their way back to that, when they're done with their electro-angst-pop thing. No real shows on the horizon for me at the moment, though I did see that Pains of Being Pure at Heart are going to be touring a new album in the fall. I'm so there for that (especially since as their frontman is or is about to be a dad, it may be their last album...ever? For a while? Maybe?). Here's the first single from that, kinda Cure-y: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u-0RPO6Tws

If you're talking about the Ghosting song and the lyrics, I agree. lol

Going to Troubadour to see Mother Mother this 23rd of May.
Being from Vancouver, I've seen Mother Mother several times! I like their older stuff as well, but there's some good songs on their most recent stuff as well. I did like Monkey Tree a lot. It was a hard choice for who I wanted to go see this weekend, Miike Snow or Mother Mother, and since Mother Mother is not in the states, easy choice. lol If you like Mother Mother you might enjoy Miike Snow. This is my favorite song of theirs Black and Blue, and this is their recent stuff Genghis Khan Wow, no joke, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart really sound like the Cure and I'm digging it.

I can't believe how successful they've gotten over the past several years! I actually got a chance to play a show with them a couple of years ago, back when they were still playing local Seattle venues (a couple of my bandmates know their drummer, Andrew Katz). I recently went to see this band called Moon Hooch: they're, like, this jazz trio that plays a super dance-oriented, almost dubstep-influenced style of acoustic jazz music (it's two saxophonists and a drummer). One of my roommates found their Tiny Desk concert on Reddit and introduced me to them, and they're pretty ridiculous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwBhxBBa7tENext up: gonna go see Knower next month!

A) that's super sick, sounds like that must have been a killer show to play. I had barely heard of them before going to Coachella, but when they play that well it's not surprising that they're really taking the scene by storm.
B) that jazz craziness was surprisingly groovy/awesome.

I'm going to feel left out. lol I'm looking forward to it.

I'm sure it will be fun though.
