Post Re: HINTO (aka, In a post-SPARTA LOCALS world...)
What do you guys think of the album so far?

I've listened to the whole thing about twice and, honestly, I'm kind of disappointed :(

Maybe it's just me, but the album doesn't feel nearly as strong as their earlier effort. I was particularly disappointed by the album version of ぬきうちはなび. The live version is much more aggressive and enjoyable. The vocals on the album version feel half-assed and annoying to me. I'm hoping it'll grow on me, but I'm not sure. Maybe my expectations were just too high?

There are a few solid tracks though-- I especially liked にげる and トキメキドライ.

I'm not really disapointed at all. Maybe that's because half of the album is stuff we've already heard before, but I mostly enjoyed the new stuff too. I actually prefer the live version of ぬきうちはなび. So mellow. Overall this album is a solid listen for me on a track-by-track perspective, which is more than I can say for most albums. Kosei really takes pop and makes it fun as hell with his unique sound. Two thumbs from me. Thanks again, Mafu.

Yeah I feel the same Hamster about ぬきうちはなび. The live version is stronger...on the album version it's too subdued for my taste. Not that it matters that much, we've still got the live version =P. Maybe we've got accustomed to the live version.

I've listened till track 8 so far. Not counting the stuff I've heard before already, I like this track most. It clicked on first listen.

Thanks for the link. I like the album version of the opening track. The live version is indeed more aggressive, but... um, what do you expect from a live performance? I believe live performances should always be better than their studio counterparts. Anyways, I am impressed with the songwriting here, as usual. Listening to the album for the first time, not done yet. I'll post a more full review in a day or so.

She See Sea is a great album. Definitely has its strong points and weak points, but for the most part, it has a lot to offer. Not gonna do a track by track. Still hearing new things on repeat listens.

pheww i havent posted in here for a while.
first of all im gonna address the She See Sea songs by their non-kanji name
1.nikiuchihanabi(from latest live ep)
2.super spy(new)
3.aun(from latest live ep)
4.mr.byte(sample song from the website)
5.madoromio(sample song from website)
6.warikenai(new)
7.beach(first sample song from website)
8.urahara(new)
9.vacation(from latest EP)
10.tokimeki dry(bonus from EP)
11.school house(from latest EP)
12.nigeru(new)
13.himawaribatake(demo found on nico nico, one of the first songs made)

overall the album is pretty amazing, the most note worthy change is the bridge from nikiuchihanabi, in the live version itou sinichis lead guitar repeated the same pattern, but in the studio version he made a whole new pattern within the same measure. to be honest i like more the repetitiveness from the live version.

out off all the new songs ive found myself listening alot to urahara(other than tokimeki dry of course, too good),it has a nice sound... i tend to avoid Super Spy since for some reason the begging arpeggio and lead riff make me feel melancholic and nostaligic, however that is what abe kosei is trying to achieve

I can't have a top three, I really enjoy too many of the tracks too much. Unlike many here, I'd only heard the Opening track and tokimeki dry before getting into the album. There's just good shit going on everywhere.

Tokimeki Dry, Super Spy and Baito-San are all enjoyable. I've warmed up a little to the album version of Nikiuchi Hanabi, but I think I still need to sit down and really give the rest of the songs another go.

It's a split single. I've been waiting for an mp3 link to pop up but nothing thus far.

Now that Bass-Abe is back, I can only imagine amazing things to come. They should just kick out the current drummer and reform Sparta Locals (lol j/k, but they're 3/4 of the way there, come on).

Song was OK. Lead guitar was kind of meh to me, which isn't usually the case with this band. Didn't like the PV (needed more choreographed dance) and was bummed to see the female bassist gone. Kinda funny that they've basically reformed Sparta Locals, though.

The stuff on She See Sea has grown on me a lot over the months, so maybe this single will be the same.

Yeah, I thought it was just okay as well. Overall is doesn't seem as good as most of the stuff on She See Sea. We'll let it sit and see what happens.
