Sheerheartattack fails again for being a bitch basically. Have fun listening to G3 artists.

If I didn't know you're just bashing on sheerheartattack because you're an asshole, and not because you consider that bullshit to be good music, I'd be worried about your taste and/or hearing abilities.
As sheer said, there's a difference between being open-minded and accepting garbage as "good." As I said earlier, I seriously hope that's just a sort of joke song, but it's hard to really think of it as that since it's over fourteen fucking minutes and had to have taken a bit of time to record. What little musical quality there was in some of the interesting little random meleodies that started about halfway through was ruined by the ridiculous length and the blandness overall. The background (rhythm?) guitar noises sounded horrible and you could barely make out that they were forming any sort of chord progression at all, and the fact that they went on endlessly with no noticeable variation in sound or pattern did nothing to make it more interesting.
I have zero desire to listen to that song again, and am frankly amazed I was able to make myself listen to all of it. If you make a much shorter version that actually has a melody and some sort of redeeming musical quality, let me know.

And Tatsu-kun fails again - rather, continues to fail, for being an irrelevant, bitter moron who seems to take pleasure in verbal assaults for no good reason.
Edit: I am impressed, however, at the extreme restraint it must have taken him to avoid calling me a "faggot."

Noise music is at least a 50 year old tradition.
Music doesn't have to have melody, btw

In order for something to really be recognized as music, it generally has to be interesting whether by way of harmonies or by way of a melody. Your song has hints of both, but not enough to make it worth a second listen. The main problem is that it was both boring and too long, and therefore not good music.
If you told me 1+2=4, and I said you were wrong, it's not because I'm being closed minded. It's because I'm right.
Hey you guys, art can totally be applied to the same principles as math. Hell, I don't know why our elementary schools don't teach that songs have to have a cookie cutter formula in order for them to be good. You know, right after they get done with multiplication tables.
Seriously though. I can understand if you don't like it; noise music isn't for everyone. (OMFG I'M ABUSING THE WORD MUSIC BECAUSE THAT HAS TO HAVE A TOTALLY CLEAR-CUT DEFINITION TOO) But if you're going to just flat-out say that it sucks, don't give bullshit reasons like "it's too long and it's not catchy like ride on a shooting star ^_^"
I'm not calling you guys closed-minded because you don't like his song, I'm calling you closed-minded because you're disregarding it as "garbage" while you clearly have no understanding of the genre.

Oh, and I haven't listened to the song or anything, I just like The Damned.
The descriptions of the song, however, remind me of my present situation - I'm sitting at work, pseudo -helping out with a rehearsal for something called art-on-the-grid. This is basically a conceptual performance art display created via the Access Grid audio/video collaboration software. So pretty much there are a bunch of institutes from all over the united states/world collaborating in a vibrant display of predominantly intellectual posing with relatively little intellectual content. It's still kinda cool though...

Art can certainly be applied to objectivist reasoning. Ayn Rand, anyone? You even imply objective reasoning by your statement "understanding of the genre."
Also, even if it's objective, saying something sucks is a clear statement that implies that the speaker obviously does not like the music. Nothing more, nothing less. It would be unreasonable to imply that a person should have to not dislike something to be open minded.
Just the same as a pencil drawing is not a painting, "noise music" is not music.

You don't like dissonance and you have been in love with japan for how long?
You guys really are being close minded, though. "I DEMAND MELODY!" is more or less facing up to the judgment that you aren't capable of enjoying a song without it. We've all grown up on hooks and beats, though. It's understandable.

Jesus Christ, I don't even know where to begin with you.
You don't understand jack.
Have a happy life where you consult the dictionary before enjoying any form of art. You know, just to make sure it really is art.

This painting does not have any of the primary colors. It is not art.

You don't understand jack, and your lack of an objective argument is undeniable proof of that. And to top it all off, never once did I say that what clouds did was not art, artistic expression, or anything related to such.
Your consistent contradictions, lack of arguments, and irrationality is not only frequent, Kyoko, but it's also quite annoying.

dictionary.com mentioned this:
the sounds produced by singers or musical instruments
seems pretty general to me. I think that would cover this song, too... and the noise genre...
and a whole lot of bands...
