Not one of my favorite bands per se, but I love the simple surfy guitar work and they have some catchy vocal melodies. Especially that last one.

Gonna go see Minus the Bear and perhaps Mother Mother next month. I'm too poor, and the MM concert is a little far away.

You''re in for a treat with MTB. I see them pretty much every time they come to NYC. They put on a great show.

Saw Muse at the Staples center a couple weeks ago. Couldn't complain about the set as far as NA Muse sets go. Bliss, and my favorite song from the 2nd Law (Animals) which is sure to be out of the rotation come their next tour.

Just getting in, it was a really energetic show, a lot better live than on record even. Creepy, sketchy DIY warehouse venue though...it was an...interesting...experience.

Saw the Rolling Stones. They played a killer setlist.

Holy shit they're amazing for all being fucking 70. I mean, I've seen Paul McCartney a few times over the last couple years, his voice still sounds great, and he plays for 3+ (magical) hours, but I guess there's something else to seeing Jagger fucking dancing and running around a huge stage setup. They probably sound and play as good as they did 30 years ago.

They played a ton of late 60s/early 70s songs (i.e. stuff from their best albums) and a handful of really old stuff (i.e. Paint it Black, Get Off My Cloud, The Last Time)

Sounds awesome, I've always wanted to see a legend like the Stones or Sir McCartney but the ticket prices are always way too steep for me, and maybe its a bit snobby, but I dislike being so that the act looks like ants...paying 50 bucks to sit in the top rafters isn't fun for me.

I went to the Global Citizen festival in Central Park today, was an amazing show. Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, and Stevie Wonder. All of them were awesome, highlights include Stevie Wonder covering Day Tripper and Imagine, plus playing like all his hits, including on a keytar. Also John Mayer killed it.

I like Kings of Leon a decent bit, they have some very good songs.

Just got back from seeing toe (fucking amazing), going to see the Dismemberment Plan and then Mono next month. Maybe if I get employed again soon I'll go see Frank Turner at the end of November as well.

Yeah, honestly I hadn't heard anything new from them since that album with Notion, Sex on Fire, etc. and they've done two or three albums since then. So I think the count was up to 6 and 0 of songs I didn't know, but towards the end they played they're hits. They were quite good live too, so it was a good show, I know in the past Caleb (vocalist/guitar) has had troubles with alcohol before shows and they wouldn't go so good, I'm pretty sure he went to rehab though.

Aw did you see toe at Glasslands? I was so disappointed to miss that, I really am hoping to catch MONO in the city though.

Ah, I actually moved up to Boston last month. So we saw them at a little venue up here.

The last show I went to was Arctic Monkeys at the Fox Theater in Oakland. I went Thursday night by myself cause I was stupid and forgot to buy tickets for Friday's show and all my friends ended up getting Friday tickets. But they were so fucking good that I went online and bought a ticket for Friday too!
