No other band. Honestly, I never heard any of their popular songs, or I heard them without realizing it. I recall fondly of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in i am sam and remembered their music being significant in the movie.

Anyways I borrowed 1 from my library and it's pretty damn great. I really like their early folk rock stuff than their later work, but I can see why "Let it Be" is so legendary (and overrated.)
My dad played the beatles on his acoustic and sung me to sleep when iwas 2 weeks old, he telled mees!

Well with the whole Beatles Rock Band/Stereo Set, I think this thread deserves a bump.

What are your favorite song now, guise?

Hard call, but Blackbird is one of my favorites, along with Here, There, and Everywhere, I Will, With a Little Help from My Friends, and many more. I don't like the "trippy" stuff much at all, nor do I enjoy the early shouty vocals. I think they really came into their own starting with Help!

Toss-up between I'm Only Sleeping, A Day in the Life, and Octopus's Garden.

Actually, come to think about it, if you consider the entire medley on the second of side of Abbey Road to be one song, that might very well be my favorite Beatles "song".

Post Re: The Beatles
Once a band I like releases at least, say, five albums, picking a favorite song becomes tantamount to picking a favorite cheese. Yeah, baked brie is great, but then again, a slice or two of Muenster on a burger is great, or some fresh mozzarella with roast beef - what a perfect combination. Oh, and who can forget provolone, which goes great on any sandwich you can think of.

My favorite song that's not generally the favorite song of a typical Beatles fan would be "Octopus's Garden," and also "Michelle," but then there's the litany of songs that everybody can't help but love, which any given person will pick at least three as their favorites. Of the ones just listed in this thread, I can say that it doesn't get better than "A Day in the Life," "I Am the Walrus," and "With a Little Help from My Friends," but I could easily list at least ten (maybe twenty?) other songs that I like just as well.

I don't even think the Beatles are that great, but when you have that many albums, and you can release at least one bombshell every album (ofttimes multiple bombshells), they simply add up. For the record, I only even like one out of every two or three Beatles songs, whereas it's more like, say, for example, 9/10 for the pillows, 95/100 for Queen, or 7/10 for Led Zeppelin. Obviously, I'm making up these numbers, but you get the picture.

the beatles fall in to a long list of AMAZING bands that have been COMPLETELY ruined for me by their retarded fanbase.

another example would be something like the misfits.
