[quote="Jomei"]Satriani, Vai, and Malmsteen all have a really dorky signature style. Satriani is like the sleek guy, with his sunglasses and baldness. Vai is kind of feminine and crazy and shit. Malmsteen... well, yeah. Pirate with leather? Their guitars also reflect their own bizarre styles.

I like Rising Force and Attack more each time I hear them, but there hasn't been much for me to appriciate. I was starting to really get into his stuff from his early records, but he kind of . . drops the ball.
For me, at least.

early > new
For some reason i like the tone on his early albums. It's a mono guitar track recorded badly but it sounds perfect. I don't know why, but i like it soo much. It sounds like there isn't a lot of bass, and i like that.
I don't know why, but i do. It just doesn't sound metal like his new stuff.

I like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, actually. I listen to them both (more Satriani than Vai though).
They're both great. I entirely dislike Malmsteem.

I never knew Vai was in Frank Zappa's band - but I love Zappa.
Ywngie - He's like Elvis except not cool. He will probably die this year.
