Oh yeah. I love watching him haha, especially during the Drum Song.
And I still maintain that TPC put on the best show I've ever seen, thought I am probably pretty biased.

I have a pretty busy fall coming up already with shows. I probably suck for just buying tons of tickets without taking into consideration that when the time comes, I will have a shit load of work to be done, but I give 0 fucks.

Minus the Bear-and also, possible on the same day, there is a festival in Central Park with Neil Young and the Foo Fighters, and Band of Horses. I'm in a drawing for tickets, but I'll definitely at least be hanging around there to listen!

Saw the Silversun Pickups play tonight, and they were were amazing. Tons of energy, very well-done show. Their drummer is also really funny to watch. And as a nice bonus, the two opening bands were actually pretty good (especially Atlas Genius, this Australian band that I ended up really liking).

I might go see Hot Bodies in Motion, an awesome local bluesy funk band, tomorrow night. But aside from that, the next show I am definitely going to is the B'z, who will be swinging by Seattle a couple of weeks from now. =D

Minus the Bear is coming up next Saturday, another show just popped up next Thursday, Two Door Cinema Club. If I can get tickets (they go on sale Friday), I hope to make it to see them!

Minus the Bear on Saturday was pretty sweet. They played a handful of selections off the new album, I'd say half the set, and then the other half were the classics. Mostly off of Menos el Oso and Planet of Ice. One or two off of Highly Refined Pirates, but I wish it was more...having seen them 3 times, I fucking love that shit, all the classics, but they play the same selections every show over a span of 3 years now. Throw in some curveballs! As always, Dave Knudson was a thrill to watch though, his guitar and pedal work is impeccable. Always fun to watch him try and balance as he uses both feet to manipulate his DL-4.

My girlfriend felt real sick about halfway through the second opener, so we had to leave our post right against the gate in front and move to the seats in back. Wasn't mad at her, but to be in the back when MTB actually came out was pretty annoying, and I wanted it to be over already. Sitting in a seat in back is no way to see a rock show! But she felt better and I got her some water and was able to check out the merch table while everyone else was inside, so it wasn't so bad.

The silver lining of the night was the first opener, while we were still standing in front, was a band called Caspian. Awesome, awesome post-rock stuff, it just felt right. I bought their latest CD and it's been great, they'll be back to NYC in December they said, so I hope to get tickets!

As for this weekend, Saturday night is Iration/The Expendables. Reggae time!

Iration last night was a real feel good show, Cisco Adler and the Expendables opened for them. The vibe was good, though I always seem to end up next to annoying drunk girls...got a setlist from the Expendables so that was nice.

Temper Trap this Friday and thus will end my concerts for a while :/

IIRC, Said the Whale did have some US dates coming from what I saw of their Twitter, so let's hope that pulls through for an NY date. It's great because all of these indie Canadian bands come play for like 10-15 dollars at small intimate venues!

I REALLY wanted to make it back up to Toronto this year, last year I caught Tokyo Police Club, Said the Whale, and Born Ruffians in ONE ORGASMIC Christmas concert. This year it is TPC and Hollerado, I want to go so bad, but it doesn't look like it will pan out

Sweet, Mono is playing a couple minutes from home on Friday. I'm definitely gonna go out and catch them! It's rare that a Japanese band visits Jacksonville, FL! They're hitting up Jackrabbits, for all the other IMers who live around town, and might wanna check it out. I'm not really a fan, but it should be fun. Gonna go see it with my bandmates.

Don't go if you're not a fan I've brought people to post-rock shows that weren't really fans, they were pretty bored.
That ring said, Mono is amazing and you will feel amazing. They put on a kickass show, but LOUD (emphasis on the loud). Bring earplugs.

Temper Trap last year was amazing, it was definitely the best of the 3 times I've seen them which was nice. Their light show is awesome now and the venue was beautiful, a converted ballroom.
That does it for my concert going for a bit :/ though I am seeing Louis CK next week and am beyond ecstatic for it.

I'm not really a fan because I honestly haven't ever really listened to them much. I'm not very familiar with their sound. I've listened to a couple of songs here and there. But you know.

Right, I only said that because you didn't seem too impressed in teh post-rock thread so I figured you wouldn't be a fan...You should definitely give them more of a shot if you want to become a fan, they can really hit you.

Get Hymn to the Immortal Wind, and you will be a fan. Guaranteed.
