Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Thanks for the link.
Listening to the first song, I'm not really feeling it enough to post in larger font, but it's pretty decent. Haven't really listened to AKFG for a long time, so I'm interested to see what this album has to offer.

I think I like the album. Stats for last seven days:

Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
I think this album's only weakness is a bit of same-ness going on around the mid-later portion, could use some more dynamics and variety of sound to the songs at that point to strengthen the album, imo. Really solid stuff, though.

Did anyone else have trouble getting the names of the individual files to display properly? If not, what did you use to unzip the file? WinRAR fucked up for me.

I don't want to DL but I so do! Is All Right pt2 on the new album? That came on my shuffle today and I re-fell in love. Solid track.

Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
It's the opener. And Blank, WinRAR came up with a shitload of errors when I extracted it, but I ignored it and the files were there and played fine.
edit: If you never got it, try 7zip or something else.

The mp3 tags were fine, so that's okay. I can just copy/paste them into the filename slots.
I finally got around to listening to the album. It's pretty solid. I really like Anemone no saku haru ni/Anemones Bloom in Spring. I think this album will grate on my nerves less over time than some of their older ones.

I love AKFG... I feel like they have crazy synergy, and their sound has had a huge impact on my own songwriting / guitar playing. Faves are Mada Minu and Fanclub... WORLD was too straight forward for my tastes...

Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Blue Train* is pretty much the only song I've ever heard by these guys that I really liked - though I admit, I haven't listened to them a whole lot. I like the idea behind this band (the singer loves Number Girl, for example), but everything I've heard comes across as generic pop rock. What am I missing?
* Got the CD single used at Book Off the other day for only about $1, what a steal!

Not a whole lot, IMO. They're exactly that, though, for whatever reason, I've enjoyed their stuff over the years. Their early albums, though not ground-breaking in any way, were enjoyable throughout. They've got a lot of energy, they're capable live musicians and they've got some strong musical influences. They also support a lot of other great acts I wouldn't have otherwise discovered (their Nano Mugen compilations are great).
They don't stand out to me as "one of the best Japanese bands evAr" or anything, but they make pleasant rock songs that are, often, very similar-sounding.
Didn't care a whole lot for the new album, though. There were a number of serviceable tracks, but nothing that compares to, well, any other album of theirs, IMO.

Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
The early stuff was more rocking with its rougher vocals and grungy guitars.

Re: Asian Kung-Fu Generation
They release some good songs, but I grow to dislike these guys more and more with time. They're getting cleaner and smoother, but its really uninspired I find most of the time. I listened to their new album and was so irritated that I couldn't even finish the whole thing.
