Radiohead this past Friday was really really good. Not sure who I'll see next or when it'll be.

So fucking pumped for Tokyo Police Club on Sunday. Seeing them in a real small place where I can be right up front, unlike when I saw them in Toronto. Even at the distance though, that show was maybe the best concert I've ever gone too, so yeah...super pumped. Gonna be awesome, hope I can meet Dave again.

As expected, the TPC show was beyond amazing. Just as good as the last time, but this time they played some new songs, and now I'm totally pumped for the new album. Their opener was also really good, they put on a great stage show and had terrificly catchy songs. Their name was Hollerado, they were also from Toronto. I got to meet all of TPC and get pics with them and met the frontman of Hollerado too, which was like a dream come true.
My next show will probably be the 4 Knots music festival in the city in July. I don't have any tickets for future shows, and thats a free show so I'll probably go. I think the Drums are playing, who I like. Gaslight Anthem is releasing a new album in July, so when they start touring that, I definitely don't want to miss them this time. On top of that, I know Iration wil be coming back this Fall, so I will definitely catch them again too!

Waiting on the Outside Lands schedule. Hoping that most of the acts I'd like to see pan out onto the same day (Would like to get Franz Ferdinand, Tame Impala, and/or Jack White onto Metallica's headline day). In that regard I guess I really lucked out last year with Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, and Muse playing back-to-back-to-back, so I probably shouldn't hold my breath again this year.
And bit late here, but dammit FamousLoser ;_; You got Trip Dancer and Ice Pick, didn't you?

Be careful. I hear those things are crazy. Haha
No kidding. The show was cancelled because the singer killed a guy.

Rusted Root + Kelly Richey today, yippie skippie! I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow because my mom is excited to see Jo Dee Messina on Saturday and the weather forecasted storms for that day! How are these storms picking performance dates? FUCK YOU SKY.

I haven't been up on concerts lately since I'm not in the city, I'm home for the summer, but I did just get tickets last week to see Louis CK standup in October! Beyond pumped for that, he's in my top 3 favorite comedians, possibly even #1.

Re: The Last Show you Went to/Next Show you will Go to
Pretty damn sweet! Before the first act, a girl from my high school graduating class sang the national anthem, it was pretty good! Kelly Richey then proceeded to decimate my face with long blues solos and did a long solo over her head behind her back as well as using a beer bottle. I didn't have much money so I figured I should probably buy one of her cds instead of Rusted Root because I assume they are more commercially available. I got a live album. I should have asked her what the name of the last song she played was because it had a fucking awesome effect build in the middle that was just maximum . About 30 minutes afterwards Rusted Root just kinda walked on stage, picked up their shit and started playing . It was a cool crowd, some girls to my left brought a plethora of hula hoops and were very good at hula dancing. A couple of girls were also flailing scarves around, hippies gonna hip. It was really cool to see that view again, as I hadn't been to the Ski Lodge in quite some time and seeing the ski hill drop brought back my memories of when we vacationed to a townhouse down that hill. 21-B! Man, I got fucking chicken pox on day two of a vacation one of those times and it still couldn't kill our fun. Anywho I was digging the grooves and vocal harmonies, the frontman switched guitars literally every song, he had about four or five different ones. I really liked one of the songs they said was going to be on their new album in October, "Monkey Pants" I believe the title was. They played "Send Me On My Way" in the middle of the set, and of course everyone sang it with all their might. After their last song, they thanked us and said "meet us over at the merch booth" then quickly walked off. The crowd wasn't having that shit and kept dancing and calling for one more song! A roadie came up to the mic and motioned that the show was over and pretty much repeated what they said... So it felt genuine. But what's this? The drummer came back about two minutes after that with his sticks. He starts motioning to the crowd that they are done, but then he starts drumming on the stage itself! For the next several minutes, he improv drums all over the set, while periodically another band member would pick up their instrument and start jamming. After about five or six minutes total the improvised jam begins to sound like another one of their hits, "Ecstacy!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsGIDFTURaY Then the frontman returns and starts jamming the guitar part to confirm it and they went maximum awesome. From start to finish, it had to be like sixteen minutes or so, extraordinary build up and energy. If it was an intended fakeout or a genuine encore jam, I can't say for sure, but holy shit, it was beautiful. I have pictures, I brought my camcorder but didn't use it cause there was a sign that said no video recording.

Re: The Last Show you Went to/Next Show you will Go to
Just saw Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. It was beautiful. They did suites from Twilight Princess, Link to the Past, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, plus a dungeon medley, the fairy theme, wind fish theme, ocarina medley, Kakariko theme, and an intro theme. Only weird thing was that they decided to do three songs as encore. By the third one, people weren't standing up to clap again - the orchestra was still up there, so it's obvious they still had one more song to play. I'm not complaining about getting the extra songs though. Thinking about seeing Weezer in the fall.

Gonna see weezer tonight actually, so we'll see how that goes. I heard they play mostly older stuff, which is definitely a plus.

Thats pretty sweet! I'd love to see Weezer, especially if they're playing Blue Album/Pinkerton, even Red Album stuff. I got tickets to Minus the Bear and The Temper Trap in Sept and Oct respectively. Third time around for each of them

One show for Blue album, one show for Pinkerton the next night.

Tokyo Police Club was really fun to watch. Same with Temper Trap saw them twice and both performances were great, Dougie knows how to keep the crowd interested.
