People are stupid. That's why they like something as unmusical as rap. Same with punk.

Power chords make for bland, bland music.

Quoted for irony. First off, noodles use thirds. Listen to Hush Bell. Then eat your humble pie.

Secondly, your beloved pillows and Sparta Locals use power chords, completely throwing your argument out the window. Don't try to say that they don't count because they use much more than just power chords; so do noodles.

I was explaing how do to vocal harmony.

There's nothing wrong with power chords. Unless they're overused. Same with bending. Just complete lack of skill is what sucks, and that's the noodles.

Nice try, Steve, but you've failed. Try listening to some of their records before you make broad statements about their music. I swear, you must be the only person here who doesn't understand technical skill isn't all that important in music.

Yngwie, or probably just about anybody you listen to, can obviously play circles around Yoko. Most of the people on this forum, however, would probably prefer to listen to noodles. And it's not because of sex appeal, because we all know Yngwie could make a dead man hard.

Face it, the noodles are not very talented musically. They're a good band, but still..

How do you decide who is and isn't talented musically? If you go solely on who can play the most notes per second, yeah, I guess they aren't that talented.

I, for one, factor in songwriting ability. Yoko has written some very cool songs, and that's worth a lot more than technical musical ability without creative skills.

Yeah, most of the guitars virtuosos can play very well but don't have any good song.

How can you give Noodles shit? Remember G3? All the songs sounded the same.

I think it takes a lot more creativity to play scales and stuff rather than three chords for an entire song

And why do you say virtuosos don't have any good songs? Listen for a melody. All the instruments are doing way more and that should keep your interest more than some shitty singing.

If you appreciate music, then you should realize that vocals aren't necessary. And don't be al "OMGIRONY" Because I do listen to rather simple music, but it has something special. The noodles don't really have anything special about them. Everything sucks. Nobody can play worth shit.

The only reason I can imagine somebody wanting to listen to rock is that it has a different "feel" other than that of jazz or classical

I agree with both sides.

I lean more towards Jomei, though I can see a few of Steven's points.
