And I'm saying you can hear their playing better on an album or a better live recording. The stuff on the DVD is like a decent quality bootleg. I just think you didn't get a good introduction to noodles. If I had only heard songs from the US tour DVD I wouldn't be too interested either.
Omg, fast shredding is so way better because it's not repetitive and very pleasing to the ears. Oh wait.....
In case you didn't notice, I'm very picky when it comes to guitar virtuosos. Some can be super gay. (Michael Angelo) On the other hand, some are musical geniuses. (Becker)

Well, don't expect guitar virtuosity from a Breeders-inspired alt-rock band.

He's basically criticizing noodles for using power chords, which is obviously retarded, and making a vague, baseless attack on their vocal harmonies. Doesn't take much theoretical knowledge.

Theory doesn't make great music, just technical music.
And Yoko does not sing out of harmony. I can see the music being to simple for your taste, but the vocals are probably the best part of the Noodles.

Power chords make for bland, bland music. They might as well just play fucking roots all day. I found it ironic when jedi said shred was repetive. If simple power chords for 5 albums isn't repetitive, I don't know what is. Apparrently soloing over varied chord changes and songs with melody is repetive. Hmmmm.
And blazing, listen to when the bassist or drummer sings with yoko. It sounds awful. I'm not even sure they know how to do it.

Same 80's style distortion all around. Abuse of Floyd Rose tremolos. Cheesy 15 minute solo-esic songs. Too much bending. Too much emphasis on tone, amp choice, pedal selection, and all that other technical shit. Just plug in and play. That's all you really have to do.
Honestly thrice, you can keep your music theory criticism bullshit. Spend the rest of your life criticizing bands for their lack of the knowledge you possess on said theory. In that same lifetime, I'm going to continue enjoying music based on what appeals to my tastes, regardless of that theory.
There is beauty in simplicity.

I means that nobody really gives a damn if they put in a D augmented or quarter step bend in only 30 seconds of music. Nobody judges music based on theory.

Perhaps I jumped the gun a bit. What I meant to say is that nobody really cares if you have talent. Just look at punk bands.
