Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
If the tabbing committee would tab Skeleton Liar, I'd be really grateful.

You guys can use my band's cover of Gazelle City as soon as we're done with it for the 20th anniversary concert contest if you like!

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
First pass drum track for Skeleton Liar: http://www.xtsquintx.com/skeletonliar.mp3I decided to see what it would sound like by just using my camcorder, I haven't tried using a real setup because I don't have a mixer on hand right now. But it's start, and maybe it won't sound bad in comparison to what everyone else is recording with. More so to the point though, it just seems that no one is really working on this project so I decided to record this to get the ball rolling... ahem.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
I'm only recording vocals for stuff, so people need to chop chop and get their parts done for us. Also, it's hard to do the rhythm and lead without the drums, unless people are good at recording to click tracks.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
The problem is that the pillows copy band contest randomly decided to coincide with our project, which inconveniently had most of us focus on that (understandably) rather than this project.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
Regarding the Gazelle CIty Cover:
MUSIC: Ok, but kind of boring.
VIDEO: Top notch and awesome! Visually appealing which is a very important part of this competition!
So I have it four stars. It has a very professional atmosphere. Kind of intimidating, I'll be the first to admit that... but it's definitely one of the better covers up there.

Beats me. It might make sense to pick it up after the contest, though.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
Yep, I'm guessing this will come back to life at the start of August when entries are no longer accepted.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
If we can get some tabs out, I think that'll help a lot too.

I'm thinking about doing Borderline Case. Would that be okay?

This project is hard to coordinate, especially due to the contest interfering. I think we can eventually go through with this plan, but if anyone wants to do other songs in the meantime, that should be fine. We can compile all the good songs done by IMers in our "album," even solo projects, instead. However, it might be wise to omit songs by IMers' bands, unless more than one person from the band is on IM. I just feel it would be rather silly otherwise, but I don't make the rules. I think that should be a relatively safe new plan - we can even throw some of our contest entries in, if we feel they would fit (like Mare/GR's). I'm just brainstorming right now, though - so take what I said and go with it, IM.
